Corsair cx500m turn PCIe cable around

Deuxez

So i got a cx500m in a new chassi, and the PCIe cable got one of those 2x8 pins on 1 cable. I only need to use one of the connectors, so the other one is just hanging under the gpu. I was wondering if i could just turn the cable around, and use the end that goes into the GPU on the PSU instead etc? I mean it shouldnt make a diffrence of which end you use where, and It just looks better through the window. And no its the normal cables that come with it, not any extensions or custom ones.

You can't and it does matter.

Power supply cables are standard on the videocard side (+12V  on that pin.. GND there.. etc.). Pinout on the PSU side is not standard, as @Voluspa shows in the chart above.

$5 for the cable from Corsair isn't that bad.

I'm surprised that both PCIE cables with that PSU have the double end on them.

In the meantime a couple of zip-ties can do wonders if the un-utilized 6+2 is bothering you.
