Great idea! Your experience is fine for you it seems, from what you said you certainly wouldn’t benefit from reading or watching content online.
 

Being able to take in information from a variety of sources, analyse it, understand assumptions and extrapolation, see and discount personal opinion and bias etc is a huge skill and takes time to develop.

To summarize:

- You bought a used 1070, which was dead.

- You found one article where someone talked about issues with early 1070s and 1080s.

- This is... youtube's fault? tech reviewers' fault?

 

The 1070 is the 4th most used card on Steam, and 5 out of the top 10 are Pascal. I'd like to know where this article was, because I feel like if it were a widespread issue, it would be getting a lot more press.
