Why is Nvidia working with Samsung instead of TSMC for RTX 30 Series Cards?

What advantages does Samsung have over TSMC on their 8nm manufacturing process other then the fact that TSMC is at maximum capacity?

How factual that Nvidia's future RTX 30 series lineup refresh would be manufactured by TSMC instead of Samsung?

samsung offered them a deal that they just pay for the good wafers and probably TSMC is getting pretty saturated

I think it had to do with availability, more than anything.

AFAIK TSMC's 7nm process is better in pretty much every way, hence why GA100 (the top of the line Ampere GPU) uses it instead of Samsung 8nm. I guess having it on their lower-end GA102, GA104 and GA106 (or at least some of them) would've been too much of a stretch for TSMC.

There are like 3 fabs for the whole world. Samsung, TSMC, and Global Foundries. They have an insane amount of orders to fill

they were late to get any TSMC supply so they had to go with Samsung . they made Samsung give them a good deal but it isn't a great node.

TSMC 7nm capacity is being owned by AMD
