RTX 3070 Reviews Are Here - 2080 Ti Performance for $499 (3060 Ti Confirmed?)

One hour until sales are expected to start in UK, I assume it is same worldwide. Who's trying for one?

https://www.gamespot.com/articles/nvidia-rtx-3070-review-2080-ti-performance-for-cheap/1100-6483832/

Considering I already have a decent 1440p card and this only has 8 GB of vram I am going to pass.  Already feel I settled on the card I got when I really wanted a true 4K card. I want one now that could hit 60 fps with really high settings or max in games and with some having ray tracing on and has some future proofing. The RTX 3070 is good for 4K gaming with older titles and some recent stuff but basically I see what the RTX 3080 can do and would rather wait on that one day or get something from AMD as they are more likely to do well for some time into the future with 4K / new titles.  By the way buying in Canada and just don't feel that shelling out almost $700 minimum plus 13% tax is worth it for the RTX 3070 but the thing is what I spent on the RX 5700 XT wasn't that much less, $675 inc. tax and shipping, so .. : S

Note:  They sold out pretty much instantly today at Best Buy Canada.

Yeah I wouldn't really pay attention to verge reviews...

BAD STUFF

  • 650W power supply requirement

...and I stopped reading. You can easily run this card on a quality 500w supply. These PSU recommendations Nvidia gives are just to cover their asses, they are not requirements and any person with any PC tech knowledge would know this.

Scan have been hopeless for me, too. Nvidia is reporting OOS now, and I got a brief red banner on Scan's site telling me the same.

AMD it is, then!

At time of writing CCL are showing some AIBs in stock still https://www.cclonline.com/search/?q=3070

Still seeing if Scan's site comes back to life. I did refresh after I saw the main site responding, but I'm still struggling with the secure checkout server.

An upgrade is a nice to have, but by no means essential at this point. Gives me more incentive to see how nvidia responds to AMD's offerings from yesterday.

Scan's servers were unable to cope at 3080 launch too. Didn't know they were made the partner to handle the FE until I hit the button on nvidia's site today. By chance I was already signed in to them thinking I might try for an AIB.

I clicked the button and it seemed to work since it let me checkout, but the checkout page never loaded. Site was then unresponsive for a long time, and by the time I got back in, they're gone.
