Plastic thingy fell off motheboard

2.5V rating... I don't know what's needed to replace existing. You can try to decode more of the markings somehow. If the caps feed the CPU core, 2.5V is probably ok since they run <<1.4v.

So I ordered a laptop motherboard, but the guy packed the battery loose in the package knocking parts off, this was months ago so I cant return it. I'm willing to fix it myself but I cant identify the parts whether they be chokes, inductors, or some other business I usually don't deal with. If anyone can help me identify the part and find a replacement[same or similar] I'd be forever grateful.

Note: I have 2 of these knocked off and the leads are broken, otherwise I would try to re solder them back on
It's a Rog 2070 laptop 10th gen processor if that helps any
Also I have no way of testing it since its just the motherboard itself but I'd rather try to fix it before I attempt to turn it on.

Any help would be great. Thanks again!

I think it is an electrolytic capacitor of some kind. Note the band on it, it is directional and when replaced you need to put it back in the same direction.

 

I'm too rusty on reading values though, could they be 560uF? If you have a DVM with capacitance meter you can try using that to measure the broken components assuming you can find something to contact. There will be some voltage rating also but no idea what that would be.

How would you go about figuring out the direction tho? If you look at how the others are positioned it could be either way...

You should be able to match them up to their original location by the tear marks in the solder.

Like if you tear a piece of paper and then you can match the two pieces back together.

Use that method to determine which way they were oriented.

And honestly, unless they are damaged, they dont really have much of a lead.

I bet if you put them back where they go, match them up and all, then you could probably solder them back in place.

As another post said, it could be done by inspection based on the ones that came off. Another method is to deduce what they are connected to. These are probably (bulk) power smoothing caps, the higher frequency ones are the smaller ones closer to the socket. Anyway, they'll be connected to power rails, and it might be possible to work it out from there. Oh, it probably wont be fun to solder onto them as they work effectively like a heatsink.

No, assuming they are capacitors, they will have some value associated with them. I'm not 100% certain based on markings alone, and some DVMs have the capability to measure the value of them, which can be used as a check.

The leads were knocked clean off, no remnants other than some glue remains where the leads were. You can even see the full lead still on the board. I believe its an smd chip/module/?
