Is the Samsung 970 Pro better than the 980 Pro?

Based on the specs in the pic, the 980 Pro should be much better, right?  Why is the 970 Pro $120 more?B80301AF-8492-4077-8B55-CF55ED01DFF4.thumb.png.8fbef3a1363e689137bb04a175026228.png

stock is probably low on B&H so the pricing algorithm set the cost up

here's a more reasonable price for a samsung drive

scratch that. the 970 PRO was always a really expensive SSD variant and it's being phased out now, but that doesn't mean the price will drop

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k (won) - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Kill Trident Z RGB - Force MP500 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G2 650W - Black and green theme, Razer branwashed me.

Might be a manufacturing change. 980's might be easier to make a lot of, 970's might of had lower yields. If Samsung thinks they'll be able to make a huge supply of them, lowering the price will likely increase demand.

They look pretty sweet, once they start shipping I plan on picking up about 4 of them for my home and work systems.

Because for 980 Pro they switched from MLC to TLC which helps with cost. Also to align prices more fair vs other and even their own models. The Pro was priced always decently higher.
