Summary

Chinese marketplace Taobao has the 3060 Ti listed for pre-order. There has been no official announcement from Nvidia on the 3060 Ti or 3060. The prices listed converted to USD show prices between $300 to $450 for the 3060 Ti.

Chinese marketplace Taobao has a number of retailers listing NVIDIA's RTX 3060 Ti graphics card for pre-order - a graphics card that hasn't officially been confirmed by NVIDIA.

Quote

Current information places the RTX 3060 Ti as using the same 392 mm², 17.4 B transistor GA104 chip as the RTX 3070, albeit under the GA104-200 nomenclature; the chip is expected to leverage 4,864 CUDA cores, 152 Tensor Cores, and 38 RT Cores (the RTX 3070 features 5888, 184, and 46 of these respectively). Base clock is apparently set at 1410 MHz with up to 1665 MHz Boost, and should feature the same 8 GB GDDR6, 14 Gbps memory subsystem as the RTX 3070. The RTX 3060 Ti is expected to launch come mid-November, and perhaps we'll hear more about it when NVIDIA officially introduces the RTX 3070 graphics card.

Quote

The seller believes that RTX 3060 Ti should become available after November

My thoughts

This pretty much confirms the existence of the 3060 Ti, and a launch that could be happening very soon. Like all Ampere cards, the performance looks good, but availability is the main concern.

Super has only been used for a "refresh". Typically the card above 60 tier is 60Ti and launches right away. It seems like Nvidia might refresh Ampere on TSMC 7nm because of Big Navi so then they'll use Super.

It's so hilarious reading about other models and refreshes when they can't even deliver the damn cards that were "launched" weeks ago lmao. It seems like they had like 2500 cards for the entire world... And now it seems like they can't produce any more.

Most places seem to be using new stock to fill existing orders and not selling on the open. There are slowly increasing numbers of people with them on forums.

Besides, 3070 (and 3060?) will be a separate die than 3080+ so they wont directly impact each other.

Main system: i9-7980XE, Asus X299 TUF mark 2, Noctua D15, Corsair Vengeance Pro 3200 3x 16GB 2R, RTX 3070, NZXT E850, GameMax Abyss, Samsung 980 Pro 2TB, Acer Predator XB241YU 24" 1440p 144Hz G-Sync + HP LP2475w 24" 1200p 60Hz wide gamut
Gaming laptop: Lenovo Legion 5, 5800H, RTX 3070, Kingston DDR4 3200C22 2x16GB 2Rx8, Kingston Fury Renegade 1TB + Crucial P1 1TB SSD, 165 Hz IPS 1080p G-Sync Compatible

They might be anyway.  One of the games chip makers in general seem to play is calling a flawed (or even unflawed but locked) version of a larger die a different die.  Everything is behind an ihs and underneath a piece of silicon.  The only visible differentiator is what is printed on the ihs.   It’s hard to know what “different die” means in some cases.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.

Who cares. Until we see these damn cards in store shelves or in stock somewhere, it is an absolute wasted of everyone’s time to follow any GPU news from Nvidia.

Haha, while I don't believe anything I see on a Chinese site like that, I am interested to see what the 3060 class card turns out to be. It's going to make buying used components a rather tricky proposition for a few months, and honestly I don't really see prices on used stuff dropping for at least 6 - 7 months as people won't want to part with them at such low prices.

Aren't the other cards different dies, or at the very least versions of it that weren't good enough to be a full 3080? In that case, it's not surprising there will be stock available. Not only that, virtually every source has said that there has been phenomenal demand for this generation of GPU. It's not that hard to get one; just sign up at a retailer. My roommate got his a couple weeks ago.

It doesn't matter. If foundry's capacity is filled with some other product, they won't be able to output as many other products. And clearly someone in the supply chain has issues. Either not enough Ampere GPU's or AIB's not making enough actual cards with them.

YES, I RUN RAID 1 OVER RAID 0

Sooner or later it's going to be there, when AMD cards arrive the demand will be split too. I am waiting for something that's probably even lower tier than that, makes me happy that they're starting to show up.
