I don't think I need to keep the HTC Vive Link Box connected since the headset isn't connected to it.
Do I still need the HTC Vive Link Box plugged in and connected to my computer while I am using the Wireless Adapter?

If I remember correctly, no. The link box is just to extend the range of the USB and HDMI cables, as standard USB 3.0 "maxes out" at 15 feet, and has stability issues over 12-14 feet. If you're using the wireless kit, both HDMI and USB are sent over 60GHz "wifi" and does not need the link box as the PCIe card for the wireless kit takes in the HDMI and USB signal via PCIe lanes and transmits it over an antenna. No link box needed.

Fine you want the PSU tier list? Have the PSU tier list: https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/1116640-psu-tier-list-40-rev-103/

Probably old...but...  YES, you do need to keep the link box.  Here's why:  If you purchase a new base station 2.0 (or get one replaced via RMA)...when you add it to the wireless config and to steam vr, it will display an error:  This device requires bluetooth enabled.  When you check your bluetooth settings....you will see that it is already enabled.   In order to continue and update the base station...you must connect the power cord and the usb cables from the link box to your pc.  DO NOT connect the video cable from the link box as it will confuse the system and you will not be able to update the base station until the video cable is disconnected.  Once all devices are updated...then the link box can be disconnected, but you will need to keep it for any future updates.
