gtx 1080 TI SLI vs rtx 3080

Nour EL Din Majed

Hello, i have a 2x gtx 1080 ti sli running and i have listed them for sale to upgrade for the new rtx 3080 but while watching reviews and benchmarks i saw that they are almost the same performance i dont really know if that is even true as the videos never showed graphs just gameplay with fps counters so now i dont know if i upgrade will i be getting extra performance other than RTX and DLSS or not and when i ran the timespy benchmark on 3d mark it showed me a really small difference in the gpu score about 1500-2000 point i want some advice weather i should upgrade or not and weather the "sli dying" thing will be affecting my gpu performance in the future and another thing to mention is that my cards are stacked up too close so the upper card might run a little bit hotter. my main reason i considered upgrading is to play cyberpunk 2077 to its fullest and enjoy it at 60fps at 4k.

Thanks.

SLI is dead ( except for some benchmarks )

I‘d upgrade for playing 4K 60fps maybe RTX 3070 will even be enough

I'm actually considering getting a second 1080 for pocket change to sli as a short term upgrade, if I don't particularly care about rtx and don't play at 4k anyway, is it not a viable short term upgrade so I can actually save up for a big upgrade in a year?
