Need PSU and case help for my first build!

lugs

I'm going to build my first pc very soon, so I've been studying up on the ins and outs of cable management and the like.

The specs (or at least the ones that matter right here, anyways) are:
Motherboard: MSI B550 Gaming Edge Wifi

GPU: TUF 3080 OC (when I can get my hands on one)

Case: Phanteks P400A DRGB
PSU: Corsair RM850

After reading the manuals of the aforementioned parts, the only section I didn't really understand is the designation of the modular cables. (attached below)

I know that the 24-pin goes to the mobo power, but the rest is unclear to me.

  1. I know the CPU needs 8-pin, but which of the 8-pin cables? EPS/ATX12V?
  2. If so, I'm assuming the 2x8-pin connector needed for the GPU is the PCIe 8-pin 6+2?
  3. Lastly, my case (P400A DRGB) needs SATA power for the fan controller, is this SATA 3 or SATA 4?

I'm sorry if this post is too long or if I ramble too much. Any help would be appreciated!

The MB takes the 24 Pin ATX AND the 8 Pin EPS.

Yes you need to plug in BOTH.

If I understand correctly, is this how it works?
MB: 24 pin & 8 pin EPS
CPU: The other 8 pin EPS?

Or does the cpu just rely on the 8-pin already in the MB?

The 24 Pin is just the 24 pin.

The 8 Pin EPS is the CPU power.

You only have 2 power connections on the MB.

24 pin ATX and 8 Pin EPS.

And BOTH need to be plugged in.

Okay I understand. So that means the PCIe 6+2 cables are for the GPU?

OH, and you need to use 2X separate PCIe cables for the GPU, not just one with 2 connectors.

So I take two (6+2) PCIe cables, clip the 6 and 2 together properly, then I can pop that into the GPU?

6+2=8.

You PCIe cables are daisy chained, you will need to use 2 of those. One cable from the PSU end for each 8 Pin on the GPU.

Just tie down the extra 6+2 connections you aren't using.

Yes, I'm aware of that. It's just that the setup for the P400A fans to sync with my MB is confusing for me haha.
