Is there any advantage to pre-purchasing Cyberpunk 2077?

GamerBlake

Hey guys,

I know I’ll want to play Cyberpunk 2077 when it comes out since the previews look awesome and it’s made by the same people who made Witcher 3. I haven’t played Witcher 3 myself but I’ve heard amazing reviews about it and never talked to anyone who played it and didn’t like it.

Anyway I’m wondering if there’s any sort of advantage or benefit of pre-purchasing the game on Steam?

Is there any sort of limitation or anything where Steam refuses to allow more than a certain X number of downloads of a game per day?

Thanks!

The Steam page doesn't mention any pre-order benefits like in game stuff so no, I don't think so.

Nope, nothing like that.

If you ask me, your best bet when it comes to new games like this is to wait a bit after release for the usual day 1 bugfixes. Sometimes games go on a sale right on release day too so might save a buck if it does.

I doubt Steam has restrictions like that. And even if they do you can preload the game in advance so you don't have to do it on launch day.

But no other real advantage that I can tell.

Ah ok I’ll wait then. Thanks!

I don’t think Cyberpunk 2077 is going to be one of those “sale on release” kind of games. Looks like they went balls to the wall on that game and (rightfully) are going to milk every last penny with a $59.99 price tag for at least a year.

But I think you have to buy the game to preload it and you can only preload it shortly before it comes out so I was wondering if maybe there was a “preload limit” or something like that.

Sounds like there isn’t though.

There's the soundtrack and artwork etc... I preordered it because like you I also love The Witcher series and believe in CD Projekt as a studio and CB2077 painted itself like a game I really want to play.

If I'm buying it either ways might as well do it so already every little helps CD Projekt... Steam will open downloading the game a day earlier it seems... on the 18th so there's that?

I think you misread my post. 😆

I said I’ve never played the Witcher but I have talked to lots of people who have and have heard tons of great things about it and have never heard anyone talk about it without being amazed as if playing it was a life changing moment in gaming for them.

As for CD Projekt, they’re a multi billion dollar business now so they are financially sound for sure. 😂
