I recently purchased this monitor for next gen. I just want to know if the major difference between HDMI 2.0 VS 2.1

Short answer is.... don't use HDMI, use display port.

 

Long answer, HDMI 2.0 has less bandwidth than 2.1, and will restrict what FPS/resolution combination and not allow you full 1440p 165 Hz. "HDMI 2.1 supports a maximum transmission bit rate of 48 Gbps, compared with HDMI 2.0's mere 18 Gbps."
