HDMI metal contact

Can the outer shield on an HDMI touch metal or is that bad I’m building a new case and I’m worried they’ll make contact

Both should be grounded anyway. Meaning connected to the same things.

Is that metal piece you talk about connected to the metal shielding of the cable itself?
