NZXT x63 In S340 Elite

So i have an S340 Elite that I'm maybe considering cooling my future ryzen cpu in and was wondering about the most appropriate mounting positions for an AIO like the x63 in that case? I watched a gamer's nexus video recently showing that the pumps (if placed at the front of the case) should be on the bottom and not the top? does anyone have both of these products who can confirm that a mounting position like this is possible, or will it only fit with the pumps upright?

There wouldn't be much point to using an AIO in the front of that case as it has no airflow, just stick to the biggest air cooler that will fit, as it'll have a bit more access to air.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

I have a S340 Elite, a kraken X63, an overclocked i7 6900k (and used to use a Noctua NH-D15). It fits, but only with the tubes up.

It also cools the CPU better than the D15, while being quieter.

I've got a S340 with a NZXT X61.

Both X61 and X63 are 280mm AIOs.

You'll need to mount the AIO with the tubes at the top.

Yes, tube up top is not ideal, but I've had it set-up like this since November 2016.

AIO basically already served it's life...cooling a daily used i5-4690K @ 4.8 GHz.

Have either of you ran into any cooling or acoustic problems having a 280 mounted at the front with that case?

The rare occasion of the "sound of water flowing" when booting up.

Usual pump hum... nothing out of the ordinary -- Gamers' Nexus mentioned (slightly) louder pump hum / noise when the AIO is mounted sub-optimally.

Then again, I can't compare the X61 AIO vs my custom water loop so, and I don't have another AIO so...

Cooling issues?

Nope...not yet.

Nope. It's handling a 4.3 GHz 6900k with eases, better than my old Noctua. My 1080ti FTW3 is a bit toasty, but it's still within spec. And no pump or water flow noises. I'm much more annoyed with the sounds of my harddrives.
