Cooling your PC in a deep freezer

Hey I got a wonderful great idea for a Linus tech tips video is if y'all could build a custom-made ultra high performance gaming PC and workstation inside of a deep freezer that will keep the internal temperature cool as well as provide better performance. But you will also have to figure out a way to ring the wires and cables from outside of the deep freezer so you can use the pc. I call it the deep freezer gaming PC

This isn't a new idea, it's been discussed before on LTT a few times and it's really dumb. They even tried it actually in one video. The fridge can't handle a sustained heatload like that.

They make refrigeration units specially for IC dies anyways, they're refered to as phase change coolers, they work much much better.

Yours faithfully

Deep freezer are not designed for constant cooling that way.

A freezer is designed for off and on.

You would need an a/c for constant continues cooling

-> Moved to Liquid and Exotic Cooling

If you want to suggest vidoes, please use the official thread:

But as pointed out, this has already been tried and tested multiple times.

You can't cool more than the amount of energy you put in, in fact there are quite a bit of losses. So a 500W freezer cannot cool down a 500W pc in short.

Then there are sooo many other problems like:

condensate

cooling down all over and not just the cpu/gpu where it's really needed.

A freezer costs WAY more than any decent cooling system would cost you.

Phase change coolers for pc's exist already.

It is probably a better idea to travel up north Canada and freeze a PC in -35C))) as long as they use antifreeze as a coolant)

Now that's something worth exploring, created a air pipe thats insulated to draw in freezing air from outside in winter into the case :)
