Do 3080 worth buying over my 2080 Ti

If you already own the 2080 Ti, it depends on how much you value the additional performance.

it's at most 30% above the 2080 Ti, usually less so thats your call

just overclock your 2080ti and get 3080 -5% at 1080p / -10% at 1440p while having 30w more power consumption.

Hell no. Why would you take a massive loss on a 2080Ti sell for 25-30% FPS. Unless money is of 0 consideration it's not worth it.

Ada is worse than Ampere which is worse than Fermi, change my mind.

it's like a 25-30% upgrade over the 2080 ti for 700usd, it's a better deal than when the 2080 ti came out, not the worst buy, not the best either.

If you can find a buyer for the 2080 ti then it's definitely worth it.

yea well... and from that 25-30% you shave of 15-20% with overclocking and turing being a gaming architecture while ampere is not.

there's no way there's 15-20% oc headroom on a 2080 ti

whether it is a gaming architecture doesn't matter at all in the face of raw power, turing's the worst gen since fermi.

no there is about 10-12%, and thats enough. because even tho ampere reaches higher scores in benchmarks, it has an computing architecture, which is worse for gaming, so even tho it has this higher computing power the 10-12% overclocked 2080ti comes quite close to a 3080 when its all about gaming. There is a wide variety of userbenchmarks done to test and compare both to another and infact in some games the 2080ti overclocked beats the 3080 at 1080p. And in others its not that far behind than you would think it is as already mentioned.

the 3080 has only 13% higher performance per watt at 250w. And you can pull more watt and higher clocks through an 2080ti then a 3080.

If  your running 1080p yes definitely stick with the 2080ti.  This is the whole 1080ti = 2080 debate again.  However two years later with driver updates and newer games the 2080 is 15-20% faster (based off of 3080 reviews)...

yea but also 2years from now there will probably be a 40series. but i get your point.
For now 1080p and 1440p gains over an overclocked 2080ti just seem worse than the difference we got from 1080ti to 2080ti, coz there it acutally was a 25%+ performance increase.

With the 3080 you can also see it in firestrike the difference to an overclocked 2080ti is much much smaller.
A regular 3080 gets a graphics score of about 44k in firestrike? well.. im not even a good overclocker but i can get 40k+ with my 2080ti, thats not a 20% difference.. And i didnt even try, there are folks out there running 2200mhz with unlimited power XoC bios... or watercooling and so on.. 3080 is not a worthy upgrade from a 2080ti, in no way. If there would actually be overclocking headroom on 3080's it would be a different story tho...
