Hi everyone

So I will be purchasing an Xbox Series X around Christmas time this year and will want to make full use of the 4K capabilities that it has.

I have a budget of around £350 for a new 4K tv and there seems to be good options for this price point.

I don't need the biggest tv which is why I was looking at 43 inch ones as that seems to be industry smallest for 4k.

It will only be used for gaming, some uni lectures and the odd YouTube video.

I was thinking the Hisense 43AE7400FTUK but I'm not sure how this will fare in gaming or how it will look as I know cheaper tvs tend to be worse but the reviews seemed decent.

I have read about HDMI 2.1 being implemented in the Series X but from looking I don't think I will utilize the features enough to justify the cost of a TV with it.

Basically I am a TV noob and was wondering what you would suggest.

Many Thanks

Kieran

Not sure I'd get a 4k TV under 50" unless I was sitting within like 5 feet.  43" is very small to see any difference vs 1080p.

What are the affordable 50"+ options for you?

<50" TVs are often actually more expensive than 55-65" ones, so even if you don't "need" bigger you might be better off with bigger anyway.

And yes to make use of that 4K on a 43" TV you need to be awfully close - about 43".

Hi! I just bought a 4k TV from BestBuy, however its around 80" and that's a bit big.

I found a 43" 4k TV from Samsung, and if you want to go a bit bigger like Dedayog suggested (I think you should go bigger too) they have the same model in up to 85" The 43" model is $270 USD and the 50" model is $350. I would suggest the 50" model if you are ok spending all of your budget. At BestBuy there are a tons of reviews for the TV

Sorry should have mentioned the TV will be for my room so I will be sitting around 3m away max so I do not think I need bigger than 43"?

My budget is around £350 so anything around there really

Thanks for the suggestion, I should note I live in England so will most likely purchase from amazon or currys (an electronics store here).

It is prime day tomorrow too so there may be some deals on.

My main worry is I am not too sure what sort of TVs are good or not as ive heard some horror stories with cheaper ones.

Ah. So sorry! I had no idea that you don't have a BestBuy. (just assumed that everyone does🤣) Yeah tomorrow is Prime Day and you will probably find some good deals. I would just recommend to look up some reviews on YouTube of the product you are looking at. I do it with almost everything that I get and I have never gone wrong.

Things like this show you eyes can't always tell the difference between 1080p and 4k, distance matters immensely.

Granted, you may not even be able to buy a 43" 1080p where you are, but it does show that to really gain any benefit of 4K, you need a larger set.

Of course I am all for having a budget and fitting in it.  The Hhisense you listed is a took TV, a bit of light bleed tho due to cheaper panels.  My SO just bought this one... which may be the same TV for the Americas, not sure.

I see for the distancing.

So would you recommend going for a bit of a bigger one. I did put my mates 40" TV in my room for scale and it was a lot bigger than expected so I genuinely believe a 43" will be great.

What do you think of that one you linked? I believe it would be a similar sort of TV.

I think it would be a good option, price point seems low and it's a decent TV>  Just wish it had Roku built in, cuz Roku rocks it.

Enjoy!
