they don't have the resources to oversee this kind of operation, and they don't want to become more restrictive because that would drive away users.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Are you insane?  That's the entire basis for Ebay.

Do you want to be told you have to sell ANYTHING online for a set price?

No.  Ebay is an auction listing service.  Period.  Leave it alone.

The whole idea behind eBay is being a free market.

Limiting the prices, especially based on buying amount is not what its intended use is.

What you are essentially proposing is an MSRP on eBay, which it doesn't work like that, since eBay sellers have no obligations from the manufacturer to follow said manufacturer suggested retail pricing.

the way to beat scalpers is nobody buy from them. That being said it's not smart to buy at launch anyway, as hardware and software bugs take a month or two to get ironed out, so the morons paying double for a 3080/3090 right now are doing us all a big favor. Wait for hardware revisions, or at least long enough to find out which SKU's don't have fan controller problems or something else wrong with them.

If you are talking about the 4080 and 5080 I think those were just claimed trademarks to stop AMD from using them. Besides Nvidia cant have 1st gen RTX prices since AMD is pushing them, a bit atleast. Besides the people who can afford next gen at retail price now probably can afford "next-next gen".
