IP of devices which are connected to second router aren't showing

Ishit Singh

I was able to view devices which are connected to my second router through ethernet after changing LAN settings and disabling DHCP.

by following this tutorial-

But here's the issue. The IP of devices which are connected to second router aren't showing at all. Only devices which are connected via ethernet are showing.

What should I do for WIFI connected devices to be visible so SQM QoS could do it's job whenever someone is watching or downloading something?

wxhat IP address are devices on the second router getting?

this 'trick' can have some unexpected results depending on how exactly the router is designed, and it tends to be more reliable on the "more dumb" routers.

(PS: also, why did that guy record while on an airplane, or whatever that sound is?)

I can't see what IP address they are getting since I disabled DHCP.

My laptop is visible when I connect to first router

But it isn't when I connect to second router

It only happens with devices which are connected through WIFI. Devices which are connected via ethernet are visible.

The router I'm currently using is Tenda N301 which is extremely cheap. Edgerouter X is on its way that's why i'm trying to figure out how to make every devices which are connected to these 2 routers visible.

[EDIT]- uploaded wrong image.

So then check on your laptop itself what IP it gets when it is on the second wireless network? Instead of trying to look on the router.

Looking to buy GTX690, other multi-GPU cards, or single-slot graphics cards:

This is the IP its assigned to. So what should I do for SQM to work on this?

So it has the IP even when connected to the second router? If so then I don’t know anything you can do to change this - your first router should see the computer as a “wired” device when it is connected to the second router.

So your second router is the one handing out DHCP addresses? or are you setting them all manually?

If your second router is the one handling DCHP shouldn't you be doing the QOS from that router?

Ideally you should have it set as in the video, with router #1 handling DHCP addresses etc

[edit] nvm I misunderstood what you were trying to say.

Just double check your settings in both routers, sounds like something went wrong somewhere... I'm pretty sure when I used to have a config similar to this it worked fine.
