What is this thing on the Asus ROG X570 motherboard?

What does that do exactly?

That motherboard has TWO Ethernet ports.

One is 2.5G LAN (black), while the other is your typical 1G LAN (red).

This started becoming a common thing on higher end / newer motherboards (e.g. Intel Z490, AMD B550, etc).

Some of the top-tier ASUS ROG boards even have a 10G LAN port, too.

You plug a CAT 5, 5e or 6 cable into it, and you get Internet/networking?

An ethernet jack is not something rare, so what exactly are you asking? If you're wondering why there's two, the other one has a faster link speed.
