I had a pc that I bought second hand  in 2010 and gamed on it a lot until october 2017 when I bought a new one. I never cleaned the thing and it was always running really hot. It finally started slowing down in 2017 and started throttling hard reaching 109C on my cpu. It was probably going to die pretty soon but I played on it until the day my new pc arrived.

Also, my old ps2 still works like a charm. Fire it up occasionaly.

Somehow nothing of mine ever dies... Samsung Galaxy S2, NEC Versa V50 laptop (great for distraction-less text editing), my car...  And hey, I've got a EEEPC 701 that still works somehow.

Is 5 years long for a GPU?  If so, we'll throw in my 750TI

If I have to explain every detail, I won't talk to you.  If you answer a question with what can be found through 10 seconds of googling, you've contributed nothing, as I assure you I've already considered it.

What a world we would be living in if I had to post several paragraphs every time I ask a question.

I don't have many "old tech that just won't die" but I do have a fair number of things that are close to being 10 years old, some of which was present when I did my original build, all of which is still in use.

A Hanns-G monitor(present with original build)

WD 320GB hard drive(present with original build)

Intel 520 series 240GB SSD

Core i5 3570K

Enermax NAXN 750W power supply

At this point, all this stuff has a lot of sentimental value to me.

Hi Guys,

My computer have refused to die for about 9 years, however gpu has passed out I think, PCB is quite bend. Linus has said that he can fix computers

Let challenge him to fix this GPU or pc, if there is something wrong with other parts. I think the gpu is radeon HD5850 or HD6850 (or something from this era)

I have a 2.1GB Quantum Bigfoot that makes more noise then a blowymatron at full speed. But it still works perfectly fine last time i checked a few years ago.

My AMD systems i bought myself in 2001 and 2003 are both still running. With some newer but still old parts.

Of course things like our old NES from 1990 still work. Although the Four Score is broken, player 2 port doesn't work anymore :( that's a little sad.

I have no signature

I still have a WD Blue 1TB drive from 2015 still kicking around with games and school work on it (Produced in Aug of 2015...was curious when cleaning my rig out last week).

I have a couple old Mac Pros hanging around as I love the looks (A 1.1, 3.1, & 4.1-> flashed 5.1 with a RX 480 and 3.33Ghz dual Xeon 6c/12t (12c/24t total) on my desk as I am typing this) I do also have another 1.1 as I got it for pretty cheap after the seller attempted to hackintosh it with El Capitan but couldn't flash to 2.1. Also have a 2014 MacBook Pro 13" that has a temp issue when having multiple tabs open (suspect the TIM is bad (AS5 applied multiple times) but the fan spins normally, just bad cooling on Apple's part).

Also have a Nintendo 64, SNES, and PlayStation 1 (Space invaders and Crash are the only two games I have...), Xbox 360 S (for DVDs).

I have a HP G32 13 inch laptop from around 2011, it have a first gen core i3 390M and ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470. It was originally my sister's laptop until she got a Mac Book 2015 at that year and then handed it down to me, I'm still using that as my daily laptop driver but with 240GB Kingston A400 2.5 inch SSD and Lubuntu since that laptop can't run Win 10 smoothly

I recently just took it apart and re applied thermal paste on the CPU and GPU(I also done the same thing on chipset, also I just ordered a replacement keyboard for my laptop but it hasn't arrived yet. I might also get a i7-640M(it uses PGA style socket so i can upgrade it) and find some used double sided 4GB DDR3 SO-DIMM sticks since it's Arrandale

Anyone remember those TomyTronic games that you used to put up to your eyes like a pair of binoculars?

I had the white one, which was a 3 lane racing game.

God, I loved that as a kid.

It's what really got me into gaming...that, and my Amstrad CPC 464 with the green screen monitor.

I still have the keyboard.

It had a cassette deck attached which was how the games ran...yes, on cassette tape.

They took 10 minutes to load and made an awful sound whilst doing so.

Ignoring game consoles (in which I can list an NES there if you really want me to), I have an old ThinkPad from early 2002 that still functions perfectly fine... well, except for the battery, but to be fair, said battery is older than a lot of people here.

I also have VHS tapes dating back to 1982 that play perfectly fine in a VCR that's 30 years newer than said tape.

Check out my guide on how to scan cover art here!

I'm still using my Samsung Galaxy S4 mini from ~2013 I think. Still on the original battery and pretty much never turn it off. I've never used a case protector and it's been dropped a lot so there's lots of bumps and bruises but the screen is still perfect and everything works.

Remember the big camcorders that had a small vcr cassette that you recorded on?

Then you took it out and it went inside a regular video cassette in a little compartment so it could be played straight back on any vcr?

Yep, VHS-C and S-VHS-C camcorders. Got those little motorized adapters and wham-o, you can play the tapes on any regular VHS machine... well, if it's an S-VHS-C tape, on a machine that has SQPB, S-VHS ET support or is a straight S-VHS player.

On a related note, my parents still have an old Hi8 camcorder from 2001 or 2002 that still functions perfectly fine.
