Funny how even a 1500$ GPU is instantly sold out and brings enough traffic to completely DDOS all the german retailers again :D 

 

Just like with the 3080, none of the inventory went to the actual customers who plan to use it. The complete inventory already moved over to Ebay listings for 20000€+... I hate people.

 

Not that i wanted to buy one myself, but this is just ridiculous.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

I think it is safe to say that there won't be 3080 Ti, despite what some people were suggesting. I guess the 20 GB version of 3080 won't be any faster either.

Tho Nvidia will probably release card that is even faster than 3090 in a year or so.

Well this won't last nearly as long as the 3080. Let's be honest here. This is a 1500$ graphics card, very few people are actually going to get it compared to nvidia's other offerings.

NVIDIA never had problems selling the 2080Ti, even though it was over 1300$ for most of the models. Sadly, many people are willing to spend that much just to have the best of the best. Even if you only get 15% more for 100% more money. Most of these cards will probably end up in gaming-PCs that run Fortnite, CS:GO, Rainbow Six, Minecraft and Overwatch at 1080p low. Seeing the performance of the 3080 really makes we wonder who would actually need the extra performance coming from the 3090. And 8K gaming is really just a fantasy at this point, because the TVs alone are so expensive, no person with a normal income can actually buy one.

People just buy it for the bragging rights. The price is actually one of the selling point.

If AMD does NOT beat or match the 3080 for a lower price, and/or beats the 3080 substantially, coming close to or matching the 3090, but for $1000+, expect Nvidia to price a 3080ti at $1000+.

30 series is only a substantial step up vs the 20 series due to how poor the 20 series was.

As expected the 3090 is 10-15% better than the 3080 at gaming.

So once again, just like the 2080ti when it launched, all those people defending its placement and price, were wrong.

So what is it?

 

ATM its a 3080ti, at $1500. Its being marketed as a gaming card.

 

Its lack of Titanesq abilities, but inclusion of Titan like VRAM, make it an somewhat confused card.

 

What we can take away from these final benchmarks and responses from Nvidia is this.

 

Expect a 3080ti. Similar specs to a 3090 but with less VRAM.

Expect a new Titan, with the full abilities a Titan usually has, possibly with even more VRAM, and maybe something extra in the GPU itself. Priced likely at $2500+

 

3080ti Price.....If AMD beats or matches the 3080 for less cost, we should 'reasonably' expect a 'normally' priced 3080ti, probably slightly higher than the historic average of $700, but close enough.

If AMD does NOT beat or match the 3080 for a lower price, and/or beats the 3080 substantially, coming close to or matching the 3090, but for $1000+, expect Nvidia to price a 3080ti at $1000+.

 

Long story short.

30 series is only a substantial step up vs the 20 series due to how poor the 20 series was.

As expected the 3090 is 10-15% better than the 3080 at gaming.

Nvidia is actively trying to increase top gaming cards price tier.

 

It's also not an 8K card like they tried to make out.

We did show 8K performance both with DLSS on and off in Wolfenstein. As for why not more 8K testing, that's mostly because I primarily wanted to compare with other cards, and I figured that most people wouldn't actually care about 8K in detail for reasons outlined in the run-up to the 8K section of the video (who has an 8K display?). TL;DR I wanted to do a broader range of tests to keep things relevant.

My hunch is that Nvidia does not expect normal people to really want a 3090 or 3080.  That they have been pumping out 10x as many 3070 class GPU's as 3080's and 3090's.  The 3070 is the card that is a relevant, easy, drop in upgrade for a 2080 or even a 1080.
