White PSU for 3080

Looking for a new PSU, I'd like it to be white because I've just bought the Lian Li 011 in white, and I'm going for a black and white themed build.

 

I know that limits my options, but it can also be black with white lighting or white motifs.

 

I've seen Corsair RMx in white, sadly in Switzerland on the 750w is in stock, and I'm not sure, given the transient spikes (and that I will overclock it at some point), whether that will be fine. Maybe I'm being overly paranoid.

750 is enough for overcloking the gpu and cpu. what will yoru cpu be?

 

rtx 3080 overcloked and ryzen 9 3900xt overcloked uses around 600-650w. withotu azny oc around 520-570w. you are fine with 750w

Motherboard tier list. Tier A for overclocking 5950x. Tier B for overclocking 5900x, Tier C for overclocking 5800X. Tier D for overclocking 5600X. Tier F for 4/6 core Cpus at stock. Tier E avoid.

(Also case airflow matter or if you are using Downcraft air cooler)

( You can overclock Tier C just fine, but it can get very loud, that is why it is not recommended for overclocking, same with tier D)

Yea but it's not the average load I'm worried about, it's transient spikes. I already have a top-tier PSU that shuts down with high transient spikes.

 

I'm just wondering if this model CP-9020187-EU is the new design or an older design, as there really aren't any other white models available.

That's the newer ("2018") version of the RMx white. You can tell as it's shorter than the older one, and it has grouped white sleeved cables - the older one had individually sleeved cables.

CP-9020155-EU is the older version.

750W RMx should be good, Corsair tested RM 2019 with RTX3080, it worked, RMx 2018 is very similiar.
