Yeah, I am pretty much number 2 - but probably without the "being sad" part.

here

The editing killed the impression, could have been much better off with building from the skit in the beginning.

@XxRONINxX, you video links were removed. You have posted it so far 4 times in this thread (3 are removed). You can link you previous post again, if you want more comments. As the competition has ended, and views/likes aren't the criteria for winning, any spamming will be treated under our advertising rules.

Its very hard to ship a pc out of North America. You have to ship it part by part and its a big headache. Also when going around the world the parts are easier to break and take longer to make a video.

Shipping is not issue. Nor is getting parts other ways. Asus is global brand and they will have warehouses/importers around the world. The bigger problem is getting someone to oversee filming & building which is key part of the competition and production.

Holy sh*t. II just realised that on top of everyone getting 3080's or 3090's, zen 3 CPUs are going to be a option. These rigs will be the sh*t.

Where do you get those specs from?

Last year they got 3700xs/9700ks and 2070 supers, no 2080s to be seen.

They've been 2080s in the past

I did the math & optimistically, winners will be announced at earliest October 23rd.

5 day work week. 8 hour days. Realistically only going to watch videos at max 5-6 hours a day. If they do it everyday.

Allowing some spare time for re-reviewing & discussion of videos

"what'd you think of this one?"

"Let's score this one. Everyone, What'd you put for originality? Why did you put a 10? I put 6. Oh, I didn't even catch that. Let's watch this one again."

Did you take into account that it's a team of 5 people?

top 30!?!?!? what? i thought there was only 4 winners, unless I'm misremembering.

On 9/30/2020 at 5:14 AM, Oliver Michael said:

Top 30 entries, aka the best entries. The 3 winners are selected from that group, 2 from US or Canada, and one from British Columbia in Canada

i thought is was the top 25 and then the three winners get the free pc

The top # that are posted are more likely to be honorable mentions, while the 3 winners are revealed later, during their respective video for example.

It won't take much time, relatively speaking, to pick out the honorable mentions, but it would take time to reveal the winners (contacting, filming, editing, approval, etc.)

The winners are not part of the top # honorable mentions, afaik at least.

its been, in no spesific order, 2070s, 2070s, 1080ti, 2080ti, 5700xt, 2080ti, 2080ti, 1080ti, and a 1080ti, so, yeah, its going to be a 3080 or 3090 if asus is really generous.

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

I presume they’re watching them all together. Not watching 20% of them.

CPooter said that they will announce the top 30 when they're selected, and then they pick the winners from that.

No problem. I've clarified a lot of things with him, like how many people review the videos, who picks the winners, when the top 30 are hoped to be picked, stuff like that

In general CPotter said:

It's a team of 4-5 people who review the videos down to a top 100. Then it's a mix of him, Jono, and Linus who select the top contestants and winners.

They hope to have the top 20-30 done by the end of the week, and will post them once they reach that point.

The only reason they haven't publically announced when they might announce the top 30 is because they aren't 100% sure they will meet that deadline. Once they have the top contestants locked in they'll announce it.

So I'm assuming this means once the top 100 are selected by the separate team; Jono, Him, and Linus select the top 30; and then from the top 30 they select the top 3.

I asked how many infomercial-esque entries he's seen and he just said "A significant amount."

Personally, I've seen SO FUCKING MANY OF THEM

Thank God I didn't go that route. I went music parody style, and I hope to God it's original/creative enough lol.

What was your video ? I made a music video as well

As for the infomercials , when I was going through the videos that were already made the first 20 or so we're infomercials and I knew that was definitely not what I'm gonna do lol

What the hell.

Youtube preview thumbnail displays my video as 1:01 long...

313.png.19dc88737b76bf275b8d869b19c2e833.png

It's exactly 1:00!!!!!

I hope my video still qualifies...

Because I did follow the regulation.

Does anyone know who I have to contact to solve this problem? (At least I want to notify judges that my video still qualifies)

You'd need to cut down your video to about 59 seconds, so a safe bet is 59.5, but it's too late for that.
