ASUS B550 vs B570

Hi Everyone!

I've got almost everything planned out for my build but wanted to get your opinion. Do I go with the ASUS B550 ITX or the B570 ITX??


Case: Sliger 560 (https://www.sliger.com/products/cases/sm560/)

CPU: Gonna wait for the AMD 4000 series, maybe new ryzen 7 or 9 (we'll see)

GPU: 3080 (Probably ASUS https://www.asus.com/Graphics-Cards/ROG-STRIX-RTX3080-10G-GAMING/specifications/)

 

What I know:

-I need to have the front panel IO for the USB type C (Both board have this I think)

-PCIE graphics 4.0 is probably better for the new 3000 series (Win: B550)

-PCIE M.2 an extra 4.0 is better then only one 4.0 (Win: B570)

-More USB ports in rear io would be nice (Win: B570)

-HDMI 2.1 & Displayport 1.2 vs HDMI 2.0 & Displayport 1.4 (TIE?!)

 

Let me know your thoughts!

X570 has the same here, PCIe 4.0 for graphics

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

i7 8086k (won) - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Kill Trident Z RGB - Force MP500 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G2 650W - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

 

Linux Proliant ML150 G6:

Dual Xeon X5560 - 24GB ECC DDR3 - GTX 750 TI - old Seagate 1.5TB HDD - Dark moded Ubuntu (and Win7, cuz why not)

 

How many watts do I need? Seasonic Focus threadUserbenchmark (Et al.) is trash explained, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Ahhhh so I should go with B550 since they're the same? or I guess X570 for the ports?

X570 if you think you'd use all those ports, for sure. Makes it more convenient not to use a USB hub
