HyperX Fury 16GB DDR4 2666Mhz CL16 Dual Channel

Hi everyone!

I'm getting mixed results when I researched this online so I'm taking the time to ask for your inputs please:

Current Setup

CPU: Ryzen 3200G

Mobo: Gigabyte B450M DS3H

RAM: HyperX Fury 16GB DDR4 2666MHz CL16 (1 stick)

GPU: MSI GTX 1660 Ti

Note: I'm aware that there is some bottleneck with the parts, I'm just reusing this setup and just added the GPU recently.

My concern is that I'm looking to do dual channel memory for my setup. I'm thinking of adding 1 more RAM stick with the same specs with the current one but I'm not sure if that will automatically be "Dual Channel"? From what I have read online RAM that runs in dual channel comes in kits of 2, 4, etc.

Please let me know if you need additional information. I have also attached a screenshot of the SPD from CPU-Z.

Thanks in advance!

right now you're running single channel, and dual rank

so adding another similar stick (1 slot apart if 4 slot board, side by side if 2 slot board) will make it run in dual channel dual ranks

there's a small chance the RAM wont work together since they dont come in a kit, but it'll mostly work if buy the same model and specs.

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

Alrighty, so there is really a very small chance that it will not work as dual channel.

Much appreciated!

there's a chance it wont even post, not just not having dual channel

Extremely unlikely at 2666Mhz though especially if they're both the same RAM (frequency, latency, model).

Extremely unlikely that there will be an issue?
