3090 with the newest i9 could be done for under $5000 if you dont need storage for days

thats au, im in au at the moment and i was pricing up a plex build the other day聽

you could get a cheaper case, remove the items with a x and get smaller items with a down arrow, add a 2tb hdd and a 3090 (if they come in at around $2100 aud) and still be under $5000, thats including the $200 shipping.聽

the website I use when buying pc parts is pc case gear (delivery to middle queensland is like 1-2 weeks, you will get the case as 1 package and the rest as another)

the i9 is no slouch when it comes to streaming, i currrently use obs to record, play modern warfare and have 2 or 3 plex streams in the background and my computer still manages that with not much issue and im running the i9 9900KF

may want to go a bit bigger psu if a 3080 / 3090 is what you are looking at getting聽

We're looking at 350W from the 3090 + 160W from the OC 3900X + some 100W for the rest of the system. That's 610. Ok yeah, I can justify a 750W PSU here. Edited post.

tbh i personally would rather spend an extra $50 - $150聽towards the psu on a build like this and have a psu that i know will deliver more than enough power than the system will ever need, hence why my list has a 1000w psu (as that and the 10th gen i9 will be going into my gaming pc along with hopefully聽a 3090 and parts from my current pc will go into the plex one)

though thats just my personal preference

Not even a 3950X + RTX 3090 will pull 1000W. That money couldo go into a monitor, headset etc

Well, that's you. But how about OP? A vast majority of people will want to save money.

Thats why i didn't recommend a 1000w psu, but a 750 - 850w psu would fit easily into the $5000aud budget聽

Go with the MSI X570 Tomahawk as it has a far stronger VRM than the X570 Steel Legend.

I like that change. Not too much higher price also.
