you got a new cpu and a new motherboard but everything else is the same?

so perhaps it's the power supply, or the graphics card or something?

a pcpartpicker.com spec list is also appreciated.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Okay, if I were you I would start from scratch.

Start with barebones build and see if it posts and runs well. That means, 1 stick of ram, main boot drive, no GPU, nothing OC'd, and see if it runs stable.

From there, start adding things until it starts crashing.

Side note, power supply issues can be weird, so I would not rule this out.

As @Fasauceome mentioned, you must have your GPU in as your CPU doesnt have integrated graphics.

Have you done this?

i have

Oh boy, youve got a good one here.

It sounds to me like something is not plugged in correctly, or your PSU is malfunctioning. I say this, because you said your motherboard is x2 new with the same issue, as well as the CPU.

Do you have everything inside of the case still, but just bare minimum connected together?

Id see if using a different PSU gets the system to boot. Thats the only it looks like it could be, unless something is not plugged in, or plugged in correctly.

What. Okay thats weird.

I still say try it. I've had super strange things happen with PSU failures. HDDs or SSDs not reading, random BSODs, boot loops, etc. Then fine for days.

Okay. And when you try to turn the system on, you hear a click and then nothing.

No lights, no other sounds?

The click sound, does it come from the PSU?

Make sure ssd & hdd arent connected to psu or mobo. We are just trying to fkn post at this point.

Check the seating of the CPU. Maybe a bent/broken CPU pin? Check.

Try using different sticks of ram (1 at a time) in different slots on the mobo. Clear the cmos each time you try a dif slot&ram combo.

Double check that youre 100%, for sure, without a doubt, connecting all fans and case connectors correctly. Even though everything is dummy-proof, check anyways. Be absolutely 100% sure.

Also, try to boot without GPU in and see if it changes anything. (probs not but id still try at this point)

One of the suggestions I got from the vendor, when I was having similar problems, was to take the motherboard out of the case and just have motherboard, P/S, CPU and the speaker connected. By doing this you rule out any possible case issues. For me it wasn't until the board was out that I could see that the memory was not fully inserted even though it was fully locked in place. 1 side of the memory was 1mm higher than the other and that was the problem. Please note that I had uninstalled/installed the memory over a dozen times but each time must have had the same issue. It wasn't till I was at eye level with the memory that I could see the problem.

I think your motherboard has AMI BIOS so from the Gigabyte website:

AMI BIOS

1 short beep :Memory Error

2 short beep:Memory parity check error.

3 short beep :basic memory 64K address check error

4 short beep :Real Time Clock malfunction .

5 short beep :CPU error

6 short beep:Keyboard error

7 short beep :CPU interruption error

8 short beep:Graphic card error

9 short beep :Memory error

10 short beep :CMOS error

11 short beep :CPU cache memory malfunction

i tried that and wont even power up just 2 clicks from the power supply the port for power to the cpu has an additional 4pin connector while my psu does not, could that be why it wont power on?

Only the EPS 8-pin is required.

The extra 4-pin is only NEEDED when you're not supplying enough power to the CPU (e.g. liquid nitrogen / extreme overclocking).

I'd double check your 24-pin, EPS/CPU 8-pin, PCI-E graphics connections, and front panel connectors (e.g. power switch, reset, etc).

Make sure the motherboard metal stand-offs are properly installed, otherwise you can be shorting your motherboard to the computer chassis / case.
