(UPDATE: Series S 100% Confirmed) Xbox Series X and Series S Prices and Launch Dates Leaked - $500 for X and $300 for S

PlayStation 2
Go to solution Solved by AndreiArgeanu,

Quick updates for everyone. This is what tweeted Xbox not too long after the leak, and following that, less than an hour ago they officially announced the Series.

Edit: 30 minutes ago today, they also officially announced the series X so previous tweet about the series s was removed.

UPDATE: Xbox Series S reveal trailer from Microsoft themselves:

Source: https://www.windowscentral.com/xbox-series-x-and-xbox-series-s-release-date-and-price-finally-revealed

xbox-series-s-and-x-together.jpg

As the timeline shortens into the launch window of the Xbox and PlayStation consoles, it turns out that the prices for Microsoft's machine(s!!!) have been leaked... and they aren't really interesting, honestly. The Xbox Series X is reported to go for $500, with an option to finance the console under the Xbox All Access finance incentive for $35/mo.

Quote

We can confirm via our sources that the entry-level Xbox Series S will cost $299 at retail, with a $25 per month Xbox All Access financing option, which Microsoft is planning to push hard via various retailers and a large global rollout. The more powerful Xbox Series X will cost $499, with a $35 per month Xbox All Access financing option.

Both consoles will launch on November 10, 2020.

This also confirms the existence of the Xbox Series S as a budget console, too. The Series S is speculated to launch at the same time as the Xbox Series X for a price tag of $300 and on November 10th.

Quote

The Xbox Series S just leaked (via Brad Sams), giving us a glimpse at Microsoft's entry-level next-gen SKU. The Xbox Series S is small enough to fit inside an Xbox Series X, and we expect it to be around 4TF RDNA2, making it roughly around as powerful as the Xbox One X, perhaps geared towards 1080p monitors with better frame rates. We don't have further details on the console's capabilities beyond that, but we expect NVME drives, and many of the newer "next-gen" features like fast resuming multiple games, and ray tracing.

This'll also be launched with a financing program not unlike one that Microsoft offered with the Xbox One X a couple of years back.

I'm very interested to see how Sony will go about revealing the PS5's price as it seems that the leaks will be true here. Now that we know the Series S exists in a budget console form for $300, Sony doesn't have much wiggle room to sell the PS5 Digital Edition like the Series S. What's your thoughts on this?

People would be willing to spend the higher upfront cost if Sony can makes solid games. What good is a console if the games on it aren't good?

Honestly, I don't know how true that'll hold. If you remember the PlayStation 3 launch, games like Resistance: Fall of Man and Ridge Racer 7 couldn't save a $600 price tag for the PS3 that was actually worth a fuck.

I am a bit worried about the Xbox launch, though; they don't have much outside of Flight Simulator, Medium and whatever XSS/XSX-enhanced games come out for it.

If it's marketed properly, not only by Microsoft but by retail employees, the cheaper Xbox will fly off the shelves. That's the perfect machine to have for your kids, or in a game room that still has a 1080p TV...which will likely make up a large percentage. $25/month, and it gets you the console and a huge library of games? Easy choice. Hell, even the X if it's only $35/month is a tempting option. With that plan I might even pick one up.

What's the interest rate on the finance options, if any.

And if all the xbox games will continue to be on PC, then what's the point.

Last year, the one s was 25$ a month for GP ultimate and the one s, for 24 months, which comes out to 600$. 15$ a month is GP ultimate, so its 360 for GP, and 240 for the one S.

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

I had a bet with someone and said that they're gonna charge 750 for the Xbox Series X but we both knew that wasn't gonna happen. It's good for the General Consumer that we were both wrong because Holy Sh*t the amount of performance you will apperantely get for 499 $ is just nuts, because it is speculated that the Top End RDNA 2 card is gonna slot in perfectly between the RTX 3070 and 3080 in terms of performance so when it's even just a cut down Version of that Card in the new Xbox then Console Gamers will get a huge IPC uplift over the previous gen. So that means that the new Consoles actually come close to the 2080 in theoretical performance. I did start out on Console but am now a PC Gamer by Heart & Soul and will never go back, only Nintendo Consoles are allowed in my House. The only thing that I want from the new Consoles is both new Controllers to play Games on PC.

You can take a look at all of the Tech that I own and have owned over the years in my About Me section and on my Profile.

There was never a question as to Project Lockhart existing to me, honestly. It would be extremely weird for a company to make many, many, many references to it in specific software things to not exist as a separate entity.

I thought it was obvious 2 years ago that it was going to be around $500, maybe $600 if MS didn't want to take a lose on the hardware. people keep forgetting that this is effectively a 2021 product that will be in production for 4+ years had has all that time to recoup first years loses. and MS knows that they make most of the money by licensing cost and getting as many people into the ecosystem.

The Series S is a Xbox one X replacement, it is in the market to convince uses to not get the one X used/new but to get the Series S to move as much of the user base off the one gen as fast as possible.

also with the fact MS has the all access finance options for the new upcoming consoles ($25/$35 a month) it allows so many people to get into the new gen.

Doesn't matter how you slice it. Gaming-wise, this much heat, packed in for 499? That's a really good option. Huge amount of people don't want to fuck with pc parts etc etc. Having to play the newest, the hottest games on a cheap hardware that will last for 5-6 years+? Let's be honest, the console with gamepass is a huge hitter. Your move Sony.
