Add "Not Moved" to Filtering

zeusthemoose

I have been looking through settings to see if an option exists to remove moved topics from those that are shown but all I can find is an option to only show the ones that were moved. I found that in sort by > custom > filter. If I should be looking somewhere else, please point me in that direction.

So if there is no way to currently do so, would it be possible to add a way to filter out moved topics?

Thanks for taking the time to read this!

Alternatively a way to invert the filter. It solves this problem for all other inverse filter cases too. (topics I haven't posted in, topic without a poll, etc.) It would also eliminate the need for either the locked or unlocked filter.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Why? What is the result you're trying to achieve?

Its mostly so when I go through General Discussion and get to the second or third page, its not mostly full of topics that got moved. Granted it is only there for a page or so but it can be a bit difficult to not miss a topic that is supposed to be in there when all the surrounding ones are moved to other places. I am the type of person who when bored will just go through and read all of the off topic and general discussion posts from the past few days that I have not seen yet.

Of course if it is complicated to add or not many people would use it, then there is no need for it. But seeing as how there is an option to only show the moved posts, I thought it would be easy enough to add an option to not show them and people like me would use it all the time.

I agree. The volume of posts in the wrong subforum lately has become, overwhelming, even to those of us that don't have to do the work to moderate them.

About the only thing that comes to mind to fix this issue without hurting the forums welcoming nature would be a feature that allows one to ignore moved from posts in that subforum. Obviously, the goal is to be shown only subforum appropriate threads, which necessarily includes showing moved to posts.

ENCRYPTION IS NOT A CRIME

Ah yes, I should have specified. I would like to hide posts that were moved out of that subforum. If they could still be seen in the subforum they get moved too when the filter is active, that would be great.

The way to do it currently would be to use Activity Feeds. Its actually quite easy to setup.

Click the My Activity Streams menu at the top of your screen. At the bottom there is a Create New Stream button. Clicking on it will take you to a page where you can customise pretty much everything. I have one set up with only topics that I have posted in so I can see the further conversation.

Adding to that. For just seeing threads with new, unread posts in GD, you set it to topics and select GD from advanced menu (cog wheel), then set all other settings as you like. For example taking you to first unread comment, showing only unread items, showing last post first and so on. Its still missing some options, most of which aren't possible.

There are also premade streams for Recent Topics and Status Updates.
