240FPS on a 6700? Might as well ask for a piece of the Moon.

Hand, n. A singular instrument worn at the end of the human arm and commonly thrust into somebody’s pocket.

The best GPU I would pair with the 6700 is probably the 2070super, seen it bottleneck 2080ti in modern games.

But wait for 3000 series to release anyways, wait for price drop, or grab a 3070

Yup, I had a laptop actually, and now I build pc, and use my work laptop in the meanwhile.

It sucks, but whatever. I never was satisfied with a laptop for gaming.

if your budget is around 56k inr get a ryzen 3 3300x or a 3100 or ryzen 5 1600af and a 1660 super(preferably from the used market)

considering the fact that you used a 6th gen intel processor i guess you have a ddr4 ram.

if your budget is around 70k get a ryzen 5 3600 instead. that would leave an option to upgrade the gpu in the future.

p.s. you can also get new 1660 super. but it wont be worth because 30 series is just round the corner

these are all sidegrades to his current CPU, i would recommend against a CPU swap if these are his options

he's better off buying a new GPU today, and a new CPU in the future.

upgrading the 750Ti to a 2060/2070super should improve his gaming performance vastly.

3300x is probably still an upgrade. 3300x is about the same as a stock 7700k, which has a 4.4 GHz all core and a 4.5 single. 6700 only has 3.7 all core and 4.0 single. Still probably not significant enough to warrant the upgrade, though.

is it really worth upgrading to a 20 series now?

i recommended the upgrade of other parts so that he can sell his current pc and get a 3060 or put in some more money and get a 3070

if he could sell his pc for a decent price then it's worth a consider

not sure what PSU he has as well, might need to include one with a GPU upgrade if his current one isnt great

oh yeah. that might be a matter of concern. that would gulp at least 100$ of his budget down.

there is no way that cpu is gonna get 1080p 240hz on low settings. You will need to upgrade.

the i5 is cheaper and has better performance so something like that would be good
