but digital foundry said 3080 "seems quieter" than 2080. Nothing of 3x quieter like Jensen said.

Something like a msi trio is inaudible for me.

Something like a msi trio is inaudible for me.

3x quieter is probably marketing speak for about 5 decibels quieter. It's a 3x decrease in sound energy so they're technically not lying, but it's not 3x quieter to the human ear. It's certainly noticeable, but it's not massive.

Who in their right mind would pay a $100-150 premium on a 3080 unless they get a 20% clock boost, or more?

If your motherboard is from Asus ROG series, so must be your graphics card, otherwise how could you live with yourself if your hardware does not match visually?
