Should I go to the used market?(Ebay)

JustinNgos

Since the Rtx 30 series just released I was looking to get a 20 series card like a 2070 or super and I’ve seen lots of cheap cards like a 2070 going for $400 cad around $300 usd and I was looking to buy one once the 30 series are getting sold and preordered. I don’t know if it’s gonna be a scam or not bc those prices seem to good to be true. Does anyone have any experience with buying used cards? Thanks

Yes when buying from ebay ask alot of questions to see if the person is genuine and to see if the card was abused. Look at the sellers ratings and see if they have many good ratings if they don't it can be a bit more sketchy. Buyers are usually protected from these situations though.

I would wait at least until the launch when prices may drop. Also the 3060 is likely a thing that will launch and will likely be around a 2080 in performance

Not a clue but buying turing is kinda dumb atm. Unless it's like £200 for a 2070

Haha, if it's on eBay and there's lots of used cards going for that how is it a scam?

Buying used cards is fine as long as you're smart about it and make sure it works. Just ask the seller, read through the ad, and really, you're covered against DOA so as long as you have a way to test it, you're fine.

Canada - US shipping isn't really that delayed.

It'd still be more expensive than buying a used card like he's looking at.

If you're not building yet then just wait. No point in having parts you can't use.
