Laptop uses both IGPU and DGPU for games?

Wolly9102

Hello,

i've noticed that my laptop (see signature) uses both my IGPU and DGPU for games. I've seen it uses the Vega GPU for example in Rocket league. But for World of warships it uses the 2060.

Is this an AMD thing? I've not seen it before. I got this laptop not too long ago and this is the first time i've noticed it. All games run fine btw. Would like to know why it does this kind of behaviour. :)

Optimus and the 1050 launched about the same time and with the benefits of Optimus are much bigger on more power hungry gpus they probably decided to ignore the lower end for business reasons

Makes no sense at all. Optimus worked on laptops with Maxwell, so the 1050 isn't a differentiator. The likely culprit is nVidia settings being stupid and not having the game automatically run on the 2060. The fix is simple, either go to the nVidia control panel and change which specific programs run on a GPU, or do the same in the normal Settings app like so:
