3070 is looking so worth it. Wonder what used 2080tis will be going for now because of the performance capability of the 3070

I wouldn't buy one for more than $400.

Why buy a used(and potential miniing card) for X amount when there's a brand new card, for the same performance, for $500? New warranty/support, updated tech, etc.

Hope i can get a rtx 3080 with 2x 8 pin instead of 12 pin unless cable mod is gonna offer 12 pin cable with black and white sleeved cables that i can use on my evga 1300 g2 directly, much rather have 12 pin then 3x 8 pin

A leaked 3090 model from Zotac had two 8-pins (if the image is to be believed), so I think it's safe to say that you'll be able to get 8+8/8+6-pin 3080s from AIBs.

The problem for me is the vram.

The 3080 has the performance I like but I use more than 10gbs now.

So it looks like I will be still buying $1500 cards.

Nvidia out here telling the people that bought 2080tis at $1200 to go fuck themselves straight up. Not gonna lie it stings a little, they released a better GPU for pretty much half the price of the 2080ti which is awesome for those who didn't get one but those that did are getting screwed, if the specs and performance is true, the 3080 has killed the resale-ability of the 2080ti.

Boohoo. It's not like they took anything away from you. You had a 2080 TI because you could afford it and you probably used it. If it is not enough for you today, buy a new one. If the price of the newer cards will be higher, you would get more for your old card, but you still have to pay the same price to upgrade from your old card. The only people who are allowed to be butthurt, are the ones who have to sell their old computer because they are broke.

This was predicted even at the launch of Turing. RTX being so new, there's likely to be major performance increases in that area with any successor.

And how many 2080Ti owners need to upgrade? Emphasis on NEED. Sure, some will want the best, and they'll upgrade regardless. More realistically, most will probably play the long game for 4080. Like for me, I have a 1080Ti still as my fastest GPU. 2080(Ti) didn't do enough to make me want it. 3080 does. I got my value out of the 1080Ti, and hopefully the resale value isn't silly as I will have to wait for any replacement before I resell it. A lot of people still say they don't care about RTX, and it would still be a potent card for them.

Wonder what the 3080Ti will bring to the table.  Going to wait and see how that stacks up before making an upgrade decision.

Getting more for less is a good thing, always. You're delusional if you're making yourself feel bad about it. If you were happy with your purchase yesterday there's absolutely no logical reason not to still be happy about it.

Yeah i'm curious if there's still a founders edition tax, although with the 2000 series the AIB's priced theirs about the same and there really wasn't a $999 2080Ti.

Although 3070 faster than a 2080Ti in what, RTX? I honestly care more about standard game performance.

And I'd expect there to be "Super" or "Ti" versions because the price gaps certainly are there for Nvidia to add in cards with more VRAM.

Well 3070 seems like something I should go for but with all the interest I'm afraid we will have shortage of them. If 3070 really is faster than 2080ti and it's not just some marketing BS numbers that they got god knows how this meme seems fittingspacer.png

Obviously we need to wait for benchmarks, but if the 3070 is actually equivalent in performance to the 2080ti at $499, that's pretty game changing. I think everyone was surprised by how reasonable the price looks (except for the 3090, of course, but that's basically a new Titan).

Main PC:

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X • Noctua NH-D15 • MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk • 2x8GB G.skill Trident Z Neo 3600MHz CL16 • MSI VENTUS 3X GeForce RTX 3070 OC • Samsung 970 Evo 1TB • Samsung 860 Evo 1TB • Cosair iCUE 465X RGB • Corsair RMx 750W (White)

Peripherals/Other:

ASUS VG27AQ • G PRO K/DA • G502 Hero K/DA • G733 K/DA • G840 K/DA • Oculus Quest 2 • Nintendo Switch (Rev. 2)

Laptop (Dell XPS 13):

Intel Core i7-1195G7 • Intel Iris Xe Graphics • 16GB LPDDR4x 4267MHz • 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD • 13.4" OLED 3.5K InfinityEdge Display (3456x2160, 400nit, touch).

Got any questions about my system or peripherals? Feel free to tag me (@bellabichon) and I'll be happy to give you my two cents.

RTX within sanity price?

A surprise for sure, and a welcome one

My guess is Nvidia probably has some idea how the NAVI 2 and the upcoming AMD GPUs will perform. They have to keep their RTX 3000 price in check. It's a good sign.

Guess AMD gets decimated again.

Meanwhile, the price seems reasonable, and seems to aim to users on 10 series or older.
