Well I tried something new today. I wanted to see what it was like to fold locally. I heard there would be a lot of noise and heat. 

 

I lasted a whole work unit. The heat wasn't too bad, given a single video card, but the noise was no good.

I'm getting an average over 3 days of 2.85, 2.74, 2.73, 2.65 & 2.38MPPD on my 2070S at 80% under Linux (These are Hybrid Cards 'tho)

The rest are yielding:

2070a 2.31MPPD

2060s 2.28MPPD

2060 1.55MPPD

1070t 1.27MPPD

1660t 1.17MPPD

1060 6GB 705.7kPPD

1060 6GB 723.8kPPD

Undervolt + Power limit + Custom fan profile Of course no 40M PPD either.

You wasted your money on the wrong card sadly, for the price of one 2080 Ti you could have had 3 of my cards

Tho not sure if it is still a issue or not, but if you have steam physically open on your desktop close it. It can run in the background but last year for mystical reasons it slowed down GPUs.

Did you power limit your card(s)?  They're obviously still going to dump heat, but it isn't nearly so bad when you throttle the card, plus for folding it barely seems to make a difference in PPD.

Get these, thank me later. They don't work well for a train horn on a 6 hour trip but they work great for fan noise

I'm guessing they are better or equal in noise canceling, I barely hear my fans beside me with it on(about 2 ft away, not the water cooled machine). Sadly my Corsair headphones battery decided to go red giant on me and once removed the unit is basically dead and the older pair the wire snapped trying to fix them Never buying another corsair headset after that. Tho I'll give them credit battery replacement is actually easy once you remove the stupid double sided tape. That's how I know how effective the headphones are, a 99 cent bluetooth dongle from 10 years ago and problem solved lol.
