LTT Official Folding Month 2020!!!

Go to solution Solved by GOTSpectrum,

Luckily when I said it was almost done, I really meant it.

For the last time in 2020, ladles and gentlespoons, here a blog post.

And with that said, it's a wrap! Thank you for everyone getting involved, if you'd like to continue talking about folding why not head over to The Folding Community Board

Funny that it takes some decent hardware to stick in the top 50, I’m running a 2080 blower, water cooled 5700xt and 5600xt nitro plus “some” cpu cores

You need only look at the numbers.

I'm not an event folder. I fold year round

I know, it's great you can do that all year round. I also intend to fold all year round, I have been folding these last few months, but I only started folding this year.

In this event, my recent boost is from fixing a deep learning rig for a friend, so I have it in my possession.

That's great timing for you :)

I'll be happy if I can finish in the top 30. Everything's been running well so far, hopefully it stays that way. I did trip a breaker over the weekend trying to setup some older cards I have laying around. I forgot how much power the r9 290s pull, not worth it so I just threw that thing back in the closet.

yesterday's weirdness is tomorrow's reason why

@Den-Fi I have a challenge for you. At the moment it looks like your going to do about 60M points today, the results last night have me at a total of 65,342,800 points for the event. If on Thursday you can beat 65,342,800 points for the day I'll send you a $25 Amazon voucher. That gives you about 7-8 hour to ramp up your output for Thursday. What do you say ? Think you can do it ?

On second thought... I own my office, so if I had someone go grab it and set it up here, that still counts.

I decided a few days ago to just pause my CPU. Generates way too much heat for only getting around 300k ppd. It would normally be sitting around 85°-92° so I decided to stop torturing it for a while. Meanwhile my 2070 Super is getting me just under 3mil each day so I'm cool with that.

Since it doesn't have an active work unit you can go in to the settings > Slots and remove the slot for the CPU. That will prevent it from starting and looking for a WU the next time you start the program.

Yeah, I actually have it auto pause every time I have to restart the computer anyways. I might remove it but for now I'm not too worried about it.
