Actually looking at the data export options it wouldn't be very hard to automate badges assuming usernames are associated someway between the forums and EOC, it could be as easy as posting your F@H username in a topic or the link in your profile etc and a background script (not a webpage crawler) that runs every day could update in a matter of minutes what would take a single person either 0 time or a few hours depending on requests. Tho even if that was done, I could still claim laziness, BUT one could script in a little cheat to automatically associate identical names not yet claimed once a month 🤣

field on the profile?

ahahah .. I think the logic is .. fold 1 month with 100 GPU's not, 100 month with 1 GPU  ... also I am not "new" in the folding game ... the fact that I decided to fold here with this account has nothing to do with my other folding@home accounts .. that can get the same status/badge :D easily :)

@GOTSpectrum - oh .. I think I lost the crown today :)  due to the hiccups in the last 3 day

I know I know... Was just joke pointing you out. But we appreciate everything you do anyway, you know that?

My friend asked me to troubleshoot his deep learning machine.

Wonder what I could do to stress test it after fixing it.

My 1080 doing great,

seems like it averages 1.6M PPD, and even a bit higher after i applied the P2 fix.

image.png.f730b7e0626c74ce357092bfe4ffae99.png

Also i broke 300M a couple days ago!

image.png.700f29e774ed07588536a695202af023.png

My team rank has nearly only gone down this year.

I remember that it was only half a year ago since i was in rank 40s, and now at ~220

At the start of folding month i was about ~210 and as low as ~222 a few days ago,

Consistency is king ;D

A bit hard to fold while also doing my masters degree thesis, but hey something to take my mind of not getting a 3080 :/

To the Admins & Moderators: If this doesn't belong here, then please do with it what you must. I did not mean for this to become such a long post, but once I started typing I just kind of stop realizing what I was doing and needed to vent my frustrations into the keyboard.

So after looking at all of the spreadsheets for the event thus far, my OCD couldn't overlook that one user in particular is seemingly doing alright, but his user name has been left blank on each sheet. So I went and looked at the sign up sheet and saw where you had marked people for various things, but one was "Forum name not found" or "Forum name missing"

I then started checking for those people without forum names in the daily score sheets and found most had just had their F@H username entered into the LTT Forum Name column (makes sense since it's the only name you have to identify them by) So I decided to try and figure out who this mystery folder was. At first I was just going to sort the name column in alphabetical order and check name by name until I found one missing, but that would be quite time consuming and I'm quite lazy. But once I realized you had already marked the ones who didn't enter their LTT username correctly; or at all, I figured that would be the best course to take.

One downside to this is I would have to check their username on Extreme Overclocking to not only find out if they have even been folding recently at all (So far of all the registered users, 98 or 22.22% of which haven't managed to contribute a single point thus far) but also try and compare their numbers on that website with the one's you've gathered for the daily sheets. The biggest issue being you are getting your numbers as of 12 A.M. (BST), and Extreme Overclocking bases their daily numbers from 12 A.M. - 11:59 P.M. (CST) which is a time difference of 6 hours. Now I could have looked at the last day and calculated the total points from 6 P.M. to 6 P.M. ( in actuality, the 3hr time blocks starting at 10/18 9 P.M. to 10/19 6 P.M.)  which should work out because the time zone difference just happens to coincide with the starting / ending of when Extreme Overclocking pulls their numbers. But when I did that for that time period, I got 2,979,776. The daily total you got for that same time period was 3,224,331, a difference of 244,555.

I don't know why there is that much of a difference in the points for that day, but thankfully I got lucky! One day that user only folded for just a few hours and it seems it wasn't near the beginning or the end of the day so there was no overlap. On 10/13 he had a total of 140,712 on Extreme Overclocking, and on the score sheet for Day 2 of this event he had a grand total of......140,712!!!!

So the missing username (not the LTT Forum username unfortunately) is James_M._Schraw

But wait, there's more!!

While typing this up, I decided to just google that username and see if anything popped up. The majority of the web searches were about some lawyer in Florida. Added "Folding" into the mix and whaddya know‽‽ It pulled several Extreme Overclocking search results and 1 result from the badge request page. Which unfortunately most request posts are deleted once they are completed. But thankfully our good friend Google had the page cached and I was able to scroll on down and finally find the mans username.  @Jschraw

I know that this post was highly unnecessary and a lot longer than it needed to be. But to be honest, I was just hoping I could make myself useful.

Spoiler

I've had a shit relationship with jobs my entire life, and even shittier relationship with my ever decreasing health. I've been a type 1 diabetic for going on 21 years now and not only has it dictated what I could do with my life rather than what I wanted to do (I wanted to join the U.S. Navy, become a pilot and either stay on for a while or get out and get my type rating and be a commercial airline pilot.....neither of which are remotely possible with Type 1 Diabetes) but it has also sucked dry any chance at living a somewhat normal , happy life.  When I got diagnosed when I was 10, I had pretty much perfect teeth and never once even had a cavity. A year after my diagnosis, I had 15 at my first checkup. Things only went straight downhill from there. I have spent several thousands of dollars out of pocket for fillings, root canals, crowns etc; but my body seems to think that's too good for me. 3 years ago I had to bite the bullet (no pun intended) and made a decision to try and get ahead of things for once and took the only option available and had 11 teeth pulled in one day. It was also the first time I've ever experienced severe anxiety, or any type for that matter, as I sat there numbed all over and a steady stream of nitrous that sadly did nothing for me while the dentist was pulling harder and harder and although there was no pain, I could feel the immense pressure and the sound of my teeth one by one shattering and exploding in my mouth sent me over the edge and I ended up accidently fractured several bones in my then g/f's hand  while she was holding mine (screw her anyways, cheated on me twice by sleeping with her 2nd ex husband)  Now I found out the other day that 2 of my 4 remaining molars is decaying and starting to rot and will also have to be pulled, and I'm sure there is other bad news I'll receive from the dentist once I can get in for a visit.

Now, the dental problems do really really suck and I'm sure a lot of y'all can relate that tooth pain is some of the worst pain most of us will ever experience. And I also happen to know quite a bit about pain too. About 9 years ago, when I was 22 I was working in an automotive repair shop as a full time mechanic. I'd always loved cars, but turning wrenches wasn't really what I wanted to do for a living, but I sort of just slipped into the job. It was pretty standard for me to work 10+ hours a day and usually 5 but sometimes 6 or 7 days a week. I would be in a hot shop in the middle of a South Carolina summer (90°+ and 80%+ humidity) and not have any a/c and my skinny ass laying inside of a hot engine bay for hours at a time. It was a physically exhausting job, but I still had energy afterwards to go and hang out with my friends until late at night just to do it all again the next day! But then I started having  pain in my feet. I thought it was from being on them all day and possibly my shoes weren't offering the best support. So I bought an expensive ass pair of boots, a really nice pair of insoles and tried those out for a few weeks. After a few weeks it was clear that the boots and insoles were not going to solve my problem, because my feet started to swell and it got to the point where I couldn't even wear my boots anymore. I saw a doctor and they gave me something I can't even remember and naturally that didn't work, probably because we didn't know what it was. My boss was thankfully a really laid back guy, but also extremely LAZY!, but thanks to that I was allowed to wear the same type of foot wear that he wore every single day to work and outside of work......which were flip-flops (or sandals, thongs etc. ) Thankfully we never got a visit from OSHA, because my calling them "Safety Flops" to match my "Safety Squints" probably wasn't going to fly.

But he actually also let me do office work instead of working in the shop because the woman who was supposed to be doing that couldn't even be bothered to answer the damn phone, or get off of Facebook at all. The swelling soon started to subside a little bit, but as that problem went away another one quickly took it's place and got even worse. I soon began feeling tingling sensations all over my legs and feet. At first they felt like itches that you couldn't scratch because they were like under the skin, but the sensation kept changing and changing to where it was more like a pin prick than an itch. I went to my doctor again and once again his "deductive reasoning" was so far out in left field that I still don't even remember what he told me or what crap he prescribed. Over the course of the next 10 months, my life was a living hell and to this day, I have no clue how I managed to still hold a job, and take care of my German Shepherd (he was only 1.5 at the time) The prickling sensation in my legs got to the point that they were very sensitive to touch and got so bad that I could no longer wear pants at all so I had to start wearing shorts to work. But in no time at all that was no longer enough as just the air blowing past my legs would cause my leg hairs to graze past the skin which was beginning to be impossible to ignore. So I did the one thing I could think of that would help remedy that issue. I shaved my legs until they were as smooth as a babies ass! This did seem to help for a few weeks. Then everything seemed to get turned on it's head and upside down. The prickling pain started to go away (which sounds like terrific news, but it was far from it) The spot where the pain felt like it was emanating from suddenly, but also smoothly as I didn't notice or feel a change right away, started to move from on top of the skin to beneath it. It might sound like a small change, but in actuality it was insanely different. Now I couldn't just shave my legs to help lessen the extreme sensitivity of the skin, nor would wearing shorts instead of jeans help either.

I couldn't afford to keep seeing the doctor just to walk away with nothing and I wasn't paid much at that job so I was living paycheck to paycheck just to barely scrape by and there was also no such thing as sick days, vacation time, paid holidays or anything of that sort. I was hoping I could push through it and maybe it would just go away or settle down to a more manageable point.

Also during this point when the pain transferred to coming from underneath the skin, I was having an extremely hard time sleeping. The pain was getting worse and worse and I was trying everything I could think of, from over the counter pain meds like Tylenol, Advil, aspirin etc, to capsaicin patches, ice packs, aloe vera ...any suggestion someone gave me , I took it. The only sort of relief I was able to obtain was when taking a hot shower. The shower in my bathroom became the most important thing in my life. On average, I was getting around 3 hours of sleep each night for around 9-10 months straight. The vast majority of my nights were spent in the bathroom. As soon as I'd wake up from whatever short slumber I was able to obtain, I'd hop in the hot show and just lie curled up on the shower floor for as long as I could. A lot of times I ended up falling asleep and would be woken up to a now cold shower due to running the hot water tank empty (I would have killed for a tankless water heater at the time had I known they even existed!!) Then I would get dressed, and go try to lie back down in my bed to begin the tortuous cycle all over again. I'd taken several trips to an urgent care near me several times (They are like an in between of a emergency room and a doctors office, and don't need an appointment) A few times they would give me a couple of Vicodin, usually pretty week, and that would at least allow me to get a night or maybe two of a full nights sleep or as much as I could sleep. One time the idiot doctors decided to give me a steroid shot in one of my thigh muscles. I don't recall what the reason for it was or how they came to that conclusion because I was more in shock at how much that shit hurt, and that they didn't tell me what it was until after they'd injected it. Diabetics should NOT receive steroids until absolutely necessary. They screw with your blood sugars and cause them to shoot up erratically. The only time I'd ever had to take steroids in the past was when I would end up in the hospital for severe asthma attacks and i'd be hospitalized for a day or two until the steroids got my breathing back under control....then I'd have to remain for about another 5 days until they could get my blood sugars back under control from them. So yeah, these doctors weren't very bright. Not to mention that the shot ended up making my leg very stiff for the next 12ish hours and had a throbbing pain, so I ended up limping out of Urgent Care in even more pain than I came in with and on the verge of tears because I just didn't know what to do anymore.  Not long after that (like within a few days) the pain changed itself again. This was the worst that it has ever gotten, even to this day. I called a friend of mine up and asked him to take my ass to the emergency room on the pronto. The pain had now felt like someone had wrapped barbed wire &/or razor wire completely around each leg and then proceeded to tug non stop from each end of the wire.  Even though my friends had known and seen what was going on with me, they looked at me almost the same way the nurses and doctors in the ER did. They see a skinny white kid who at that point probably looked pretty fucked up from being ridiculously sleep deprived, malnourished from not being able to eat due to the immense pain alone, and the fact that there were no visible wounds or anything that would easily confirm that yes, I was in immense pain so please administer the pain killers I keep asking for.

After 13 hours in the ER (90% of which was just waiting in the waiting room to be seen) they gave me a whopping 7 days supply of pain meds and sent me home. I then decided that I really needed to start seeing a new doctor, and after taking my mothers suggestion, I got in with an Internal Medicine doctor as they are much more knowledgeable than your standard general practice doctors. He informed me that my symptoms were indicative of some type of nerve damage. We set me up an appointment to see a neurologist and in the meantime he prescribed some anti-depressants that were also supposed to help with nerve damage (this ended up being very common for my doctor to do with meds. Prescribe me something that wasn't "Meant" for the issue I have, but people have reported benefits from taking it. Yeah....never helped me)

So now enter neurologist: the visit itself was actually pretty quick and only took like 35 minutes. They did what's called a nerve conduction study, which essentially is they poke and prod you all over the affected areas with needles attached to a machine that can measure if you not only have nerve damage, but how bad it is. He very quickly confirmed that I did in fact have a good bit of nerve damage in both of my legs and told me I have Peripheral Nerve Damage which has been caused by my diabetes and all the issues I'd had for the last 10 years controlling it. They were then able to get me in with a pain management specialist very quickly so that I could finally be started on pain killers on a regular basis. I went from Tramadol (it sucks, doesn't do shit) to Vicodin, then to Lortab and Percocet. Then they added morphine into the mix to act as a extended release pain killer. But morphine cause insane night sweats which caused me to again spend most of my nights in the shower, so they changed it up to Fentanyl patches. For the last 6 years I've pretty much been on the same meds, 50mcg Fentanyl Patch, and x4 15mg Oxycodone /day. And that's only because my doctor told me that he won't write me a prescription for any stronger meds and that I'd have to go see a pain management doctor again to see if they will increase them. Well.....I tried that. 4 times actually and once again I've just given up. Pain management doctors are the worst because they see pretty much everybody, especially ones of my age with no physical signs of pain, like they are all drug addicts trying whatever they can to get their next fix. I had 2 visits at the last place I've tried to date and on the 2nd visit they told me they'd need to run a nerve conduction study to confirm the diagnosis. Even though I told them I'd already had one done a few miles down the road, and every test result was in my medical file which I'd actually gotten ahead of time and brought it all to them so they wouldn't have to wait. Still, they wouldn't budge.  The neurologist doing the study told me after we were done, that he has done a ton of these and then some. He said that of the 15,000+ nerve conduction studies he's done or participated in over the course of his career, of people under the age of 30 and who weren't born with a neurological disorder, that I had by far the absolute worse nerve damage he's seen.  Obviously I'm not really happy to be hearing this, but I am hoping that maybe now they won't treat me like an addict and actually do their job to help me mange my pain. Do you know what the Nurse Practitioner's decision was to help me deal with all of my pain??  She wanted to cut my pain med dosages in half!!! She said she thought that the PAIN MEDS were causing the PAIN WTF??? And this was after I had told them several times that the only relief I get anymore is after I take my pain killers, no other home remedies or anything holistic was helping in the slightest!

So I got to pay $670 for that worthless doctors visit because they didn't bother to tell me the neurologist they had there wasn't covered under my insurance so I had to pay out of pocket for the unnecessary test he did that apparently didn't mean shit to the Nurse Practitioner anyways.

Enter Now: After I got fired from my last desk job for sleeping on the job while I was clocked out on my mandatory one hour lunch break and even showed them my time card sitting in front of me, they fired me the following week. So I collected unemployment for a while and couldn't even get an employer to even call me in for an interview. So I started driving for Uber and Lyft. About a month into it, a chick to high to even know what city she was in broadsided my Yukon and ended up totaling my vehicle and her rental. And just my luck to find out that she didn't rent it, wasn't an authorized driver so the rental company will have nothing to do with the insurance claim, and apparently she didn't even have insurance either, yay! My insurance had to pay for my vehicle and thankfully I had a check in hand only 5 days after the accident which happened on a Saturday! I bought a newer Yukon XL Denali as a replacement and spent about twice what I'd just gotten for my old one because I wanted lower mileage, and it had all the options and features that I really wanted. Around December I sold my little sister the nice Kenwood radio I already had in my truck and installed it in her boyfriends truck as a x-mas gift for him and I bought myself a much newer and nicer $1k radio for mine, and even went as far as to put a Raspberry Pi 4 in the center console with 4 terabytes of external drives hooked up to them so I could play  movies, TV shows and even retro games on all 3 screens in the truck. My ride was clean and pretty well decked out.

But on Jan 9th 2020, I stopped at the gas station down the street from my house to get my roommate a drink he asked for as I was coming back earlier than usual from driving for the day. Unbeknownst to me, when I got out of my truck and locked the doors with the key fob, the keys apparently fell out of my jacket pocket right next to the truck and I didn't even notice. Apparently who did notice was a bunch of guys standing along the fence in the parking lot next to their work trucks. 1 of said guys actually just got fired and was meeting there to return his work vehicle because he had been seen several times breaking into peoples vehicles at night while riding around in his work truck! So cue Bradley Cooper (yes, that's literally his name) who's high on heroine and has no job, no car, no house. Grabs my keys, jumps into my truck and takes off.  I got stuck standing in the back of the store in the long line waiting to check out, so I didn't even see the damn thing move. By the time I got outside, it was nowhere to be found. Worse yet, my cell phone was in my truck so I had to ask to borrow the  phone at the gas station to call the cops.

Well the cops here are absolutely useless and didn't even bother to try and look for my truck. To date it has still not been found. I did get paid for my truck, but I lost my ass on it as just 2 months before it was stolen I ended up paying $4,200 to have a new transmission put in and my insurance gave me a whopping $400 extra on top of the vehicles standard value, and also nothing else for my radio. I also had a nice coated H&K VP9 handgun in the truck, my Tag Heuer watch I inherited from my Grandfather that passed away when I was 4 years old (Literally the only thing I really care about getting back)

So I have been sitting at home all year. Haven't bought a new car yet because I don't have a job to go to, and I still can't really take a chance on driving for Uber or Lyft because of my health issues. And no point in buying a car and paying a ton in insurance just to not drive anywhere.

This is all why I decided to build my first PC and try out PC gaming for the first time. I don't really have many friends, most of the people are just acquaintances that I'm quite sure wouldn't even bother to help me if I truly needed it. My only real friend now lives in Houston, TX which is over 1,000 miles away and he kept egging me on to do a build so I finally gave in.

I'm glad I did and I try to keep my rig folding for as much as I can because you never know how much you can help others out  there improve the lives of those suffering from awful medical conditions.

So far, everyone on here seems like truly great people and although I don't know any of you, I hope that will change and that I might get to have a few more friends in my life. Maybe after that and some other changes I could really really use,  I might finally be happy.
