corsair 2x16 3200 memories can not run on arous x470 gaming 5 motherboard

Hey guys!

today I bought CORSAIR VENGEANCE® RGB PRO 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4 DRAM 3200MHz C16 Memory Kit (CMW32GX4M2C3200C16 16-18-18-36 1.35V ver4.32)

I wanna use it on my computer. But I found it didn't work at 3200mhz(xmp).Neither single channel nor double channel.

Here is my computer information:

X470 AORUS GAMING 5 WIFI

Samsung 860 EVO SATA III(1TB)

Gigabyte RTX 2080 WINDFORCE

I used corsair 2x8GB memory kit before. It ran perfectly at 3200mhz(xmp)

I really really hope guys can help me fix it

thanks

Your system is missing a processor.....

But if its Zen+ like a 2700x, the memory controller should be good for 2933mhz. Maybe try enable XMP, then go to the memory frequency and lower it to 2933 and see if its stable. That should bring a decent performance increase over 2133mhz for sure.

GL!

- If it ain't broken, don't fix it! -

- Your post codes and beep codes in the drop down below.

I have a gaming 5 with a 3900x and it runs 3200 just fine but it’s a team group 32GB kit.

Stupid question but you are running the sticks in the 2nd and 4th slots from the CPU - right?

The VRM on that board though is really weak and I had to mod it to keep it under 110C on prime95 small FFT With AVX

Sorry I forgot it.. yes its 2700x processor

I tried to downgrade to 2933mhz 20 minutes ago.now I'm testing it with MemTest and it works good.

thanks for your support !

I ran into a similar issue on a Gigabyte b450 ud3 with a 2700x. Would post with XMP enabled with a 2 x 16GB Gskill RipJaws V DDR3200CL16 but was not stable. Forcing the DDR Voltage to the XMP value of 1.35V appeared to fix the issue.

This reddit post also suggested adding +0.078V as an offset for Vsoc and also disabling DRAM power-down enable in Peripherals. The slight bump in Vsoc Voltage would give a little extra umpfh to the Memory Controller.

It's still not Prime95 small FFT stable but that's due to this boards anemic VRM. After about 10 minutes it goes above 120C and the board locks. 🤮

Sometimes you can get 3200 to work by upping the DRAM Voltage a touch to 1.4 - 1.43V but it seems to vary greatly depending on how good the memory controller on the CPU is.

So best to return the board if it was advertised to run with 3200 RAM tbh.

I mean I would, that's basically a scam.
