screen size is more preference, depends on how far away you sit and that sorta thing. id personally prefer a smaller screen than 27 inches but thats about as small as they usually come. the 8400 may not be able to push 144hz without stuttering so you could consider either a cpu upgrade or get a 60hz 4k monitor.

if you have a z370 get the 8700k or possibly a 9th gen, if you have a b or h series board i'd suggest either a 10600k with a new mobo or a ryzen system with a 3600/3700x

Inches of display doesn't matter. If you have a 27" 2k is the same as a 32" 2k

If other characteristics are the same. Resolution and fps will matter mostly.

Also an old game is easier to run in higher settings. So you better be specific if you have specific demands :)

well when ddr5 comes out it'll be on completely new boards that will likely not be backwards compatible and theyll be expensive as shit lol, perhaps keep an eye out for used z370/z390 boards online or locally, its kind of a dead socket so the mobos are comparatively cheap

Do you care about the colour? Do you need g/free sync? What do you use your system for?
