2-Way ethernet splitter that allows both devices to use it at the same time?

Today I got ethernet installed in my house. However, after it was finished, I realized that I had one fewer ethernet ports on the router than I actually needed. I looked into ethernet splitters, but it seems like they all only let one device use it at a time. Is there a cable I can get that will let me use both devices simultaneously? Or no? Thanks!

Yes. You could plug up to 4 devices into the switch (and one port to the router) and use them all at the same time with no issues.

Two ports would not fit your needs as you want to connect three devices, the two end devices and the router. 

 

You can get 3 port switches, but they're pretty uncommon and aren't any cheaper than a 5 port option and don't offer any benefit over a 5 port option. You can get 5 port gigabit switches for around £10 now days.

You need a network switch, you cna't use a simple splitter.

Most switches are at least 4 ports.
