Because there is no point to not do a 8 pin there

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

Because it's a penny-pinching cost-saving measure that probably makes sense in the bean counters' office at Dell, but won't actually live up to the potential unless they sell a BILLION units. sigh At least they're using a standard 8-pin EPS connector on the motherboard though.

It's an 8 pin connector with only 6 cables.

That's why it's funny.

The ability to transfer the full power of the conector

the single 8 pin can provide 384w of power easily, a 6 pin can't, not that it matters for an oem, but it's a stupid thing.

Because its a classic Dell/Alienware move.

Penny pinching, they also like proprietary crap. Though this isnt one of those examples.

The motherboard is an example of their penny pinching, its a OEM bored from the looks of it, they are charging over $3100 for a cheapo MB, cost cutting PSU, and POS case, while the actual 'spec' of the build can be done for $1000 less.

Getting angry over it is pointless, they have been doing this crap for over a decade, so u just have to laugh, while also feeling sorry for the poor sap who actually buys one of these.

More cables  = more power delivery.

Clearly they figured 6 was enough and didn't include the other two cables for cost reasons.

in the ideal world, would this be recommended for most of the people? like people who are running at stock speed even at all core stock speed?

The 6 pin power?

It's fine, but the rest of the computer is crap.

What MOSFETs & VRM is a board like that running, I mean it doesn't need the full 384W, but can it even handle it? LOL.
