I had a blackwiddow with usb passthrough and you had to connect 2 usb cables for the passthrough to work and it just had 1 usb port on the keyboard so in the end it didn't add or free any port ... I don't know if it's still the same today, that keyboard dated from 2013 and it might not work the same nowadays.    Also you might want to look into usb hub instead of usb passthrough on a keyboard, that might make more choices available.

Also why cherry switches ?  There's a lot of other options that are as good or better than cherry and that can cost less.  Also the cherry mx brown tactile point is not that satisfying ... in fact it is quite disappointing compared to some other switches I tried like the kailh brown and the kailh speed copper.

Any preferred keyboard format ?

Thank you.
I prefer a full sized keyboard. I prefer the cherry's because I had cherry blue mech keyboards in office prior to lockdown , and it was too loud. I checked the recent ones reviewed on linus tech tips and preferred the sound of browns as it was suited for typing and gaming as well as a combo.  I have had membrane boards, mecha membrane as well which I borrowed to test for a few weeks from a friend and none seemed better than mech kb. I am not sure about the kailh and logitech romer G.Wasn't able to figure out if they were  mecha membrane, rubber dome , or mx. Hence , wanted to go for a mech kb and came across passthrough while browsing websites.

Romer g switches are mechanical switches and so are kailh, gateron and outemu and there's a lot of other brands too.  The keyboard enthusiast will probably tell you that cherry are not the golden standard anymore.  Lots of people really like the model M as a typist keyboard but if I remember those buckling spring are quite loud.  I've read that topre (high end rubber dome) are really nice to type on but I've never tried it and the boards I found are way too expensive for me to buy just to test.

The most pleasant keyboard to type on I ever had was a membrane board.  Sadly it is too big to suit my setup now but I still have it and keep it as a backup board.  Now using a tkl hot swappable gmmk with gateron yellow and dsa profile double shot pbt keycaps.  I found out that the keycap profile was quite important for me and that it made a big difference in the typing experience.

I can't suggest any board cause I don't know by heart of any that would suit your needs completely specially because of the pass through.  If you don't mind not having it then I would suggest you look at brands like durgod, leopold and ducky.

Here is a romer g review
