Yes i think my speedtest is tested on a local server.

your connection to hongkong and japan twitch server is about 8000kbps, quality is 84, not great but not too bad

streaming at 3000-4000kbps would be your best bet, leaves 50% of the bandwidth for buffer, in case of instability and such

for 3000kbps, 720p50 shouldnt be too bad

Hey guys I've been trying to stream valorant the past 2 days and I'm encountering some stuttering issues on my stream. I've noticed that the stuttery stream is only when I'm streaming valorant when I tried streaming Dota 2 there are little to no stutters.

hows the CPU usage like in valorant vs dota 2?

also, why 48 fps?

Why 720P and 48fps with a GTX1080? You should easily be able to run 1080P 60FPS with that setup.

I haven't really checked it out right now.

As for why 48fps one of my friend who streams the game that I used to played said something about 48fps vs 60fps but I forgot what he actually said. I think its about along the lines of "There's little difference on stream with 48fps vs 60fps".

I tried streaming with this setup with 1080p but I'm getting stutterings on almost all the games that I tried to stream not sure why.

well i watched the video and i really cant tell if there are any stuttering

try switching it to 50fps (twitch shows your video as 50fps, maybe running at 48fps makes it display 2 same frames from time to time?)

and up the bitrate to 6000kbps

720p50 or 60 should be fine on 6000kbps

if you tried it with 3000kbps it's gonna be blocky/stuttery, especially fast paced games like these

I tried following twitch's recommended settings for 720p 60fps and upped the bitrate to 4,500kbs and the stream stuttered more.

If i remembered correctly i think yes i did stream it at that bitrate.

btw i checked the cpu usage of valorant vs dota. Valorant sits at around 80-90% depending on whats happening and dota is around 75-85%

does streamlabs say encoder overloaded?

your cpu usage isnt too high, but it's a possibility

try running this tool: https://r1ch.net/projects/twitchtest

Quote

slap in your twitch key

tcp select OBS recommended

select region

time can be short

run it a couple times

watch for the one that performs the best over the couple runs

most important first is

quality

ping

bandwidth

This will tell you what what server you should use and what bit rate you should use.

Well it does say skipped frames from time to time. I think the full 2hours of my stream earlier i had like 20 warnings of frame skipped. I'll try running that program if i remember correctly I was running auto settings on the stream server on streamlabs earlier.

Will try this. I also thought it was due to a server issue.

hmm, possibly network issue then

20 frames skipped in 2 hours is barely noticeable, but it's something you should be concerned about as it should be 0

Yeah I think its due to that I have only 8gb ram and the i5-4690k is somewhat getting bottlenecked. I tried playing around with the settings i changed it to 1080 60fps and 6000 bitrate and i think the stream was better. I'm now thinking that even though I upped the bitrate yesterday for my 720p 48fps stream to 4,500 maybe the reason why it was stuttering so much when i upped the bitrate to 4,500 was due to that instead of making it 720p 60fps i just stayed at 720p 48fps?

Here is a test stream that i did just now for the 1080p 60fps

doesnt make sense tbh

upping the bitrate shouldnt make a stream worse, unless the bandwidth is insufficient

and streamlabs does say framedropped, so it's probably a network issue

how was the twitchtest btw?

ah your connection to twitch servers isnt great, that explains it

your speedtest is tested on local server right?

your connection to hongkong and japan twitch server is about 8000kbps, quality is 84, not great but not too bad

streaming at 3000-4000kbps would be your best bet, leaves 50% of the bandwidth for buffer, in case of instability and such

for 3000kbps, 720p50 shouldnt be too bad

Aight will try those settings. Do you recommend running twitchtest to check the connection to twitch server before streaming?
