Torrent - NZXT H210 ITX Build

Meet Torrent, named after Torrent Company, one of the first special divisions of the 501st legion, composed of 144 Clones and led by Captain Rex (I won’t nerd out any further).

Right now this build is in its early stages. Made up from parts from my previous mATX gaming build, and the CPU out of my main system. With a few new parts (case, mobo, storage, ram).

Fans - Corsair ML120 Pro RGB’s
PSU - EVGA 750W P2 w/ Cablemod Black/White sleeved cables
Case -        NZXT H210

This is an all gaming build and I will use this to game on my LG 75UM8070PUA 4K UHD IPS HDR TV (120Hz at 1440p). The CPU was a hand-me-down from my main system so I know it is not an ideal gaming CPU but this may change. If 4th gen Ryzen has a more compelling gaming CPU, I would look towards an R5 option for this rig. That or go all in and get an i5-10600k and OC the snot out of it if that still makes sense.

As it stands the build is not modded or customized in any way. But my first mod is going to be the front panel, to accommodate better airflow for my push pull fans.

Shown here is a modded panel on an Evolv, I am going for a similar effect but with a few changes. I am currently in the process completing my own CAD design.

The front panel of my H210 has been taken apart and is going to be professionally cut out at a local CNC shop as I want a quality finish, so this is going out of my hands.

The entire front panel is mounted with this plastic frame that will need to be cutout (in red), then the front steel panel can be cut to my design.

As I have to sacrifice the front dust filter included with the H210 I found this 280mm DEMCiflex fine mesh dust filter that will mount right to the front panel on the inside to deal with this issue.

I am also planning to have the glass laser etched, still working on/ deciding on a few designs.

In the future my GTX 1080Ti will move into this system from my main system, as I will upgrade to a new Nvidia Ampere GPU for that system. Once the CPU decision is made for the long term I will be doing my first hardline custom loop. Hence my decision on the H210, I wanted ITX because anything bigger is unnecessary but I will use it as a showpiece so the slightly larger ITX footprint is okay and allows for enough room for a custom loop. This will likely happen in the new year though as I am waiting for new Nvidia and AMD hardware to release to make my final decision.

Here are some photos of the build process, cable management is pretty good in the H210 but I have a TON of cables so even this still took a few hours to put together. The RGB hub connectors are stuffed underneath the PSU shroud for now, in the future I will 2-way tape them into place but only after I complete the custom loop.
