Intel to revamp corporate identity. New Core logos!

CyberneticTitan

In an attempt to sever ties with its past, Intel is overhauling its corporate identity with new company logos and product logos that use a more "modern" design. There will be some new CPU product with the "EVO" branding as well. This is also a reassurance of the continued tier designations of i3, i5, i7, and i9 in the coming future.

Quote

EVO is likely to become a prominent client-segment processor brand by Intel as it wades into the post-Core product generation. Intel just registered a large tranche of trademarks and logos with the USPTO. It begins with a re-design of Intel's corporate identity from the ground-up, including the company's main logo. A clean new typeface replaces the one Intel has been using since the original Core i7 from a decade ago. The brands are placed with simple geometric backgrounds with fewer color gradients. The brand extension (i3/i5/i7/i9) is located at the bottom-right corner.

--

Next to new logos, Intel also registered trademarks for the name "Intel Evo Powered By Core" and fired off a new logo while they're at it, revealing that a new line of "EVO" processors will soon hit the market. Of course, speculations have already started, but logic indicates this will be the final name of Alder Lake-S, Intels first CPUs with a hybrid architecture, which is a new EVOlution.

I think this logo is OK. It doesn't really strike out to me. It feels pretty monotone with the dark and gray color scheme. I think this will mark a big change into how Intel will market its products in the future. I'm excited to see what the end boxes will look like.

Hmmmmm.... I think they look pretty decent. Instinct is to reject them because muh nostalgia and reee Intel logos have always looked a certain way, but eh. They're nice and clean, I'll mostly miss the good ole swoopy parts around the "Intel".

Thanks for reading all this by the way!

By the way, my desktop is a docked laptop. Get over it, No seriously, I have an exterrnal monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset, ethernet and cooling fans all connected. Using it feels no different to a desktop, it works for several hours if the power goes out, and disconnecting just a few cables gives me something I can take on the go. There's enough power for all games I play and it even copes with basic (and some not-so-basic) video editing. Give it a go - you might just love it.

I really liked the old logos better such as the Haswell/Sandy Bridge logos for Core series CPUs. I do like the Intel Evo look and the new "Intel 10th gen Core i7 looks like we were taken back to the 1940s with black/white.

These pre-Sandy Bridge ones looked the best imo.

On topic though, I personally prefer the look of the Comet/Ice Lake logos, but I guess these are alright, just kind of bland, but who cares really?

First two are not bad, nice clean look but not very interesting. The last two 'CORE' and 'EVO' though... the text not staying within a single coloured area looks awful. They have done this in their past logos but they had a lot more going on so you didn't really focus on that, whereas these new ones are so barren all I can see is the text that looks incorrectly placed LOL.

I notice a lot of people are commenting on how bland or boring they are.  Which is fine, that's subjective.  But the idea  behind most branding changes these days is not about being flashy, it's just to make it different.  The Idea is to seed the consumer with the belief the product is not the old product and that it is new.   New equals better, new equals not having the same problems as the old.  Flashy can tell consumers we are trying to compete with marketing rather than we are bringing a new product.

You can slap any logo on a turd, it will still be a turd.

Intel should cut their marketing *cough...lying...cough* budget and use those resources to sort out technical issues with their processors and processes.
