Did any of you see that Austin Evans video where he cooked and ate eggs. ON A RYZEN 5 PROCESSOR. Hopefully he doesn’t get salmonella that would be a big oof

salmonella is super rare in eggs now, some people end up eating their eggs raw or almost anyways, it was likely fine.

From what I've been told, the US is the only country that "cleans" their eggs. There is a goop layer on eggs that actually protects them (the embryo). Since other countries don't "clean" their eggs, they don't have issues with salmonella or anything like that. I'm gonna hansom a guess and say he lives in the US (don't know him or follow him). But I still think he'll be fine.

While I do not agree with the offend-ability of people these days, I absolutely agree with a general dislike of eating runny or raw eggs. Just a slimy texture, it's so much better cooked!

That's the reason we have to keep our eggs in the refrigerator. They get heated and chilled. Once chilled they have to stay that way. They are also "good" for longer because of all that. I think when I get them it's usually a date stamped 4 weeks or so out on the carton.

Not really sure what the USA's obsession about getting sick eating raw eggs is, but I eat raw eggs all the time when making cookies without getting sick.

Because people aren't smart with food... Cold stays cold, warm stays warm... No different from any other "meat" product... and yet

Ah right, that would explain it - to clarify, when I eat cookie dough, I indeed don't leave the raw eggs + sugar + butter mixture sitting in the hot sun for hours at a time because it's just CommonSense™ that heat causes bacteria to grow. Guess that's a lesser known fact in the USA or something.

Not sure who needs to read this, but the inside of an egg is going to be extremely sanitary, because if fertilized the inside of an egg is where a new life forms; The reason eggs specifically are a salmonella risk is what's outside of the shell. Without getting too graphic, egg-laying animals get everything done with one orifice, and you can imagine that causes problems with sanitation on the outside of an egg. 

 

Wash your eggs thoroughly before you crack them and you're going to be fine.
