Yes, they are both Quad Cores and the Ryzen 3 4300U is more power efficient and has higher clocks.

Also if you can pay that 300-400 krone more for the Ryzen 5 4500U you will get 6 cores.

Ok, thank you @WereCat.

If I'm on a budget, I will buy:

However, if I want a bit more performance I will buy:

Here's a comparison (since I'm from Sweden it's in Swedish): https://www.prisjakt.nu/jamfor/produkter/5182479,5389283?categoryId=353

Both laptops uses an AMD Ryzen 5 3500U processor with 8 GB of RAM and a 512 GB SSD.

Which one should I pick, and why?

And no, other laptops are not a choice. In Sweden these are the only to laptops in this price range with an AMD Ryzen 5 3500U-processor.

Is there no model with a 4500U or 4300U?

Not in this price range, no. My maximum budget is 600 USD (6000 SEK) and there's no 4500U or 4300U in that price range in Sweden...

What's the price of the cheapest 4500U laptop there? If CPU performance and battery life are important it might be worth paying a bit more.

What about one of these?

https://www.prisjakt.nu/produkt.php?p=5433856 Ryzen 3 4300U

https://www.prisjakt.nu/produkt.php?p=5433852 Ryzen 3 4300U

https://www.prisjakt.nu/produkt.php?p=5433855 Ryzen 5 4500U

The only disadvantage is that they are all using a TN panel and only 256GB SSD.

But one of the laptops you linked also has TN panel, the ASUS one.

It's about 100 USD more. My original budget was 400 USD, but it was impossible to find anything acceptable for that amount of money here in Sweden. 600 USD (6000 SEK) is the maximum, since I just bought a huge editing machine for 2600 USD and therefore don't have a lot of money left. This laptop will only be used for things like Google Docs, watching YouTube videos and answering emails.

Is it better to use AMD Ryzen 3 4300U than AMD Ryzen 5 3500U?
