NEED HELP ABOUT PSU! ASAP

Powersupply COLORFUL CROSSFEED CF-G1250WN 80 Plus Platinum True Rated Power Supply.

That would be the brand of the PSU. It's a 700w PSU so it caught my eye since I am very interested in building a PC part-by-part. Is this a certified 80+ Platinum PSU? I need replies ASAP since there's only 2 stocks left.

Looks very suspicious to me. Sticker is yellow/gold whereas the platinum certified units are whiteish colour. Also if it has "true" in the name can you really trust it.

Save yourself some bother and get a reliable and tested unit from another manufacturer. Most systems dont need 700W anyway, so you can save some money there

  • 1 month later...

I had mine for almost a year now without any problems. running i9 k series with 2 gtx 2080 for rendering stuffs on blender 3 pcs of hdd and ssd, most of the time my system is on for long hours of rendering 4k videos and for this psu sure handles my stuff with a used price around a 500 watts truerated psu with a big brand name slapped on it.

the discription of the seller where i bought it as a used item is that they are designed for mining rigs with pretty much a lot of gpu's attached. So pretty much just by that assuming its pretty decent if you're getting a sufficient power for your system.

Aside from mining rendering videos using multiple gpu's is also a good way to utilize this psu.

If any of you heard of Fortech or Segetop, then know that Colorful is their parent company. Fortech also had made some of Enermax Platimax D.F. lineup: https://www.jonnyguru.com/blog/2017/09/25/enermax-platimax-df-600w-power-supply/

This Colorful PSU does not have a fake 80 plus rating. You can easily verified this by looking it up on the the 80 Plus database on the Plug Load Solutions website.

https://www.plugloadsolutions.com/80PlusPowerSuppliesDetail.aspx?id=1408&type=2

Despite me never been fond of tier list, those Enermax and Segetop units seem to be listed as Tier B or A on this site's Tier list. I'm not saying to treat this PSU that it is just as good, as there isn't any reviews on it as far as I know (but it seem to be based on a modern LLC + DC-DC design), but can we not go around calling something a bomb just because the name seem unfamiliar or odd. I'm pretty sure "Super Flower" seem like a funny looking name when a lot of people first saw it.
