Whats the best VPN money can buy?

Privacy when on line is important to me...
I don't have a lot of knowledge as far as network security goes and I have been told that it is good to have a VPN...  So whats the best one? Preferably one that doesn't sell my information.

NordVPN or PIA would be my choices.

I personally use PIA right now but am planning on trialling NordVPN once my subscription ends.

I heard NordVPN  sells your info

They don't (that we know of). Where did you hear this?

Mullvad is an option. They don't require any personal information (not even an email address) and you can pay for it with anonymous payment methods such as Bitcoin.

I suspect it came from that nord vpn hack where they were leasing time on a server in some Northern Europe country and it didn’t have good security and someone got in.  LTT still does spots for PIA, unless they stopped.  I’m curious about the new Mozilla one, but I haven’t done he research on it.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

PIA is based in the US, which is part of the Five Eyes/Fourteen Eyes. I wouldn't trust it.

NordVPN is one of the best when it comes to logging and policy, but it's up to you if they're to be trusted after the hack. I personally use ExpressVPN, since it performs much better for me than NordVPN did.

I personally don’t expect that particular thing to happen to them again.  It wasn’t even really their fault in the first place, except for inadequate vetting of the services at the leased space.  I strongly suspect that won’t happen twice.

Not a VPN... but TOR works for browser based, and it’s free.

TOR is secure but slow.

This is part of the reason I'm considering the switch to NordVPN. That said, doubt many of us are actually doing anything that would make them a target for an Eyes nation.

None probably. All you're doing with a VPN is having to trust yet another entity with your data.

FVEY does mass surveillance. Everyone is a target.

Mass surveillance is for everyone. If your in an eyes country, your being surveilled. If you use a service, like Google, which operates in an eyes country, they pretty much have to have over any data you create. Plan and simple

I don't think I've ever heard that, you have a source? I know Nordvpn has a strict no logs policy and for the past few years have been doing 3-rd party audits to make sure they are compliant.

They are fairly new, I think they're known for being one of the cheapest providers.
